OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Welcome to the discussion group for division 803.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

I talked to my son on Saturday.  He is EOD.  He said at the moment they do have 10 days leave but it could change at any time.  I think this is just something that we just have to get used to.  It wouldn't be so bad it it wasn't Christmas.  It is hard to make travel arrangements at the last minute.

not sure my son says he does not get leave  we are from groveland and flying up on 20th

My son says no leave and he is on same ship

Nice to hear someone else in the same situation.  You are the first who has said their SR may not have leave.  I wrote an email to Public Affairs and they replied that everyone has leave...???  What A school is he going to?   Mine is Pensacola....  This delay in communication in letters and an occasional phone call is tough!!  We aren't used to this in today's world!!  Did your son say why?  Mine didn't, and for the first time he sounded down... but tried to hide it, but a mother knows!

mine sounds excited about going on to next step.  their journey is an adventure and i think they or at least mine wants to prepare for a school   he seems ready to move on and up  holidays are not part of their momentum at this time   a sacrifice we all have to make   i will enjoy whatever leave he is allowed or takes   We arrive on dec20 if someone else is coming in then and staying at navy lodge  their construction will only be the lobby at that time  let me know whonelse is there  i look forward to meeting everyone

Thanks loisb, I agree with you.  It's not a bad thing for them to keep their head in the "game" for the adventure ahead of them.  I am with you in that I will take whatever I get and know that they are working towards a lofty goal.  Thanks for the insight and keeping things in perspective!  As I said before, it's nice to hear of someone on the same journey!

They have to turn in information by tuesday for leave mine says and they are doing great as a unit, I jut got off the phone with him a few minutes ago and He was happy, they have something he likes called sunbutter, check it out it also is at walmart. He did say he was looking forward to his boxers instead of whities

hello everyone!! im new to this and my husband is also graduating December 21!! yay cant wait!!! as for the phone calls for the change date for graduation!...i talked to my husband and he told me that some of them didnt want to call home because they had to read out of the paper to let their family know that the date was being changed...that is why maybe it sounded like a recording!!!....does anybody know if they get to come home for the holidays???

The military is making my recruits travel arrangements

@EODMOM.

I made my sons and then wrote him and told him what day he was flying back with us and what day he was flying back to base.   I did it, because the prices from where we live were going up everyday and I could not afford to wait for the RTC or my son to give us a call.   I knew he was going to get leave and I knew when he had to be back.    Then I told him he gets to pay for his own airfare, because we can't afford three airline tickets.

My son is EOD also.  He wanted me to make his flight arrangements but I would write him to make sure he wants you do that.  It would be bad to have you do it just to find out he made his own arrangements.  He flies back with us on the 23rd because it was cheaper than flying back on the 22nd even with the extra hotel night.  He doesn't have to be back until the 30th but he is flying back to GL on the 27th just to be safe and to get settled in.

I was told Ohare or Midway.  Mine is going Ohare.
