Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 904 and 905

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Formal in the sense that Sarge (and probably the other one's) ask that you RSVP for them, but informal in the sense that I believe it is just a fun gathering for everyone to meet up and share information (and gather info) regarding PIR and things to do while in Chicago.

I don't know for sure since I haven't been yet, but in all the research that I have been doing this is what I understand from it!

This is my first time posting to this site. My SR is in Division 905. I just wanted to share with everyone that there is a Facebook page for the 900 Division. This page has pictures of our loved ones. It was truly a Blessing seeing my son performing for the 11/30 PIR. You have to request permission to the group, but it is well worth it. Hope this is useful information.

Hello all! I just found this group! My son (Forrest-Oklahoma)  is Ship 02/Div 905. He's going to be carrying the Indiana flag.  18 more days until I get to see him again! I've been able to talk to my son a couple times now and I get a short letter every week :) I think they can only call if they have a calling card. He's told me he really looks forward to mail so I try to mail every day now. When I was on the phone with him I asked him if everyone got mail and he said no. He said they usually get mail before bed and the guys that don't get mail just cover their heads with the sheets. I'm going to start sending some kind of joke or something with his mail so they can have something! 18 more days! Did I mention that? LOL!

Hi warreny and jomamma - Welcome to you both!  Glad you found us here.....we got a 30 minute call from our SR on Saturday too - wonderful to hear his voice.  We've lucked out with phone calls on 2 Saturday's now.....things are going well.  SR said they worked their 2nd PIR on 11/30 so we should be able to look for pix on the 900's FB page.  I looked yesterday but didn't see any of my SR - hopefully some more will be posted.  I did see some of him from the 11/21 PIR though and that was exciting!

Hang in there everyone - we are ONE DAY CLOSER!

Has anyone received confirmation from command that their SR's itinerary for leave was received?  I emailed on Saturday but haven't heard anything - wondering if I should email it again.  Son said it had to be there by 12/5.

Got confirmation from my little nuclear child in a letter couple of days ago. Can't wait! Driving up from Florida.

Welcome NukeparentMAR! Hopefully you will come to Sarge's Meet N Greet on Thursday, 12/20. There will be lots of us there.....and DylansAnukeSailor has made a flag so we can all find each other!  Look under "events" on the front page of this group (to the right) and you will see the info for the Meet N Greet.  Click on it and it explains everything and you can RSVP there too.  WooHoo we are almost there!

Yeah, almost over! Found a great pic of my boy on the 900 Div Facebook site. Funny he has the same long distance stare he had in band even though he now carrying a rifle. I am so proud of my kid the squid.

Yeah Nukeparent - so glad you saw a pic of your son!  It's exciting to see them all decked out and working the PIR!  Next time it will be at our own PIR - can hardly wait :)

Thanks so much for the welcome! Hubby insists on driving as is a truck driver. Plan on being there at least the night of the 20th. Staying at the Navy Lodge off base.

Ok, I've read alot of posts now on emailing itineraries. I just mailed ours to my son as he didn't mention an email address. Who would we email this to?

Jomama - my son wrote me and also called - said we had to have itinerary emailed by Wed 12/5 to: div904tg06@gmail.com  (they are zero's not o's).

I've seen other's saying they received a confirmation but I have not received an email confirmation yet.  I might just email it again to be safe!
