Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 079 and 080.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

So excited to finally be able to share some news with you all! Merry Christmas Eve!!!
Ship 12 Div 79
Hi! Happy to report- got 2 letters today! Merry Christmas to me!
My son is the Yeoman of his ship. I believe its similar to a secretary position. My first 2 letters were very upbeat and positive. He's always had a great sense of humor so i was hopeful they wouldn't strip him of that. My son wrote-"BTW- I know Uncasville guy. He's hilarious." I'm glad they still can enjoy eachothers company enough to find some light hearted moments.
He said their division was doing well and they just got commissioned,(12/18). Which makes them an actual division, not in training. I think? He said the beds suck, but the food is good .Apparently last year the RDC's had the Hall of fame division and are pushing for it again. Good luck to each of them. He received his dogtags and uniforms and said he was proud of himself. And that was exactly what I had hoped for him. Stay focused and be proud of yourself. We are!
Had to share this with you all.
Merry Christmas everyone! Here's hoping we all get phone calls today!
We have the phone volume turned all the way up :] Told my boys to answer every call... lol. Not that I am desperately waiting or anything. OF COURSE I AM :]
Merry Christmas to EVERYONE
Merry Christmas everyone. Was really hoping for a phone call today - had my cell phone attached to me all day but unfortunately no call :-(
Anyone fortunate enough to get a call?
My family received our first letter, my brother is in DIV 79. He says that the food is good (he was always picky, so that's a plus.) He says they get IT a lot and that he folded his laundry wrong and had to do 90 push ups. Overall, the first letter was not particularly upbeat, which was really tough for us all. He was never a strong student and says the academics are very tough on him. Our letters to him have been very engouraging but it was still hard to hear that he is not sure how he is going to hold up. Hopefully he has received everything we have written him and will push through. He was bummed to be away for Christmas and his brithday is in a few days as well. Praying he doesn't give up on himself - we all know he can do it.
Has anyone from Div 079/Ship 12 received a call this Christmas?
not me. boo hoooo
