Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ship 12 (USS Triton) Divisons 071 and 072 (Brother Divisions)
Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 071 and 072.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hi Kathy. Where is your Sr going to A school. You can find that group here on N4moms and they'll be able to give you specifics. You can ask you question on that board or you can ask on the main page of our PIR group and on of the veterans can respond. If they are staying in Great Lakes you'll be able to give them stuff after they go check into the A school base. If they are flying out to another A School you'll need to meet them at the airport to give it to them. Yes laptops or iPads are good options used for fun movies social media etc. all their school stuff is done on Navy computers. As far as wifi there is wifi in some lounges but from the posts I've seen it can be slow and hard to get on. There are services they can pay for on base to get wifi in their rooms or you can look into air cards/ hot spots through cell carriers. Asking on the specific base board will get you specific options.
As far as dress at PIR. They are in their dress uniforms and have just finished a major accomplishment. So dress dressy but also warm. There is also quite a bit of walking involved so warm and comfortable shoes.

My son on Ship 12 Division 72 just called me and he was doing great, already promoted and ready for hell week. This is the second call be ready ladies.

2nd call from my SR about 1 hour ago. Seems like the division is working well together and they are looking forward to Jan 25th. I pray you all get a call tonight.

Hi everyone,
Got my second call from my SR this afternoon (ship12 Div 072). He sounds great and actually said it was kind of weird, he is actually enjoying BC. I was so glad to hear this. He said he had to do watch on Christmas for 4 hours so he didn't get to write a letter to anyone. Sure hope he gets some time later this week. He has written a letter to his dad to pass on to everyone but I would love to get one of my own :) He said he got promoted from AR to AA and that his division is really coming together. They are up for Hall of Fame. So proud of him!! Hope everyone got a second call today. I treasure each one, however short they may be.

Our son is in this division too . what does it mean when he says they are up for the Hall of Fame? We also got a chance to talk with him for about 20 minutes today!

The divisions get awarded flags for certain achievements and they might earn pennants’ which I believe is displayed during PIR. The Hall of Fame flag is the "mother" of all flags because it is an overall average of everything done at boot camp. They have to have an average over 4.70 or higher, must earn all evaluation flags including the following awards. This is my interpretation based on what my son explained to me today. Please feel free to help or correct me. Either way it is a testament to their performance as a team and a great leader.
