Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 089 and 090.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

thank you Craig for posting USS TRITON at least now I got to see the home of where my daughter and everyones loved ones call home for B.C. Greatly appreciated. My daughter is in ship 12 div 089.

Mahalo (thank you)

She said they are doing well they don't get "beat" a whole lot only if someone is not listening or talking while in ranks. She said there are a few girls in other division that won't shut up while in ranks and they've gotten in trouble had to pull some kind of duty not sure of the initials still don't know the lingo yet. She's said the first week was rough she felt out of place and was very homesick but is now settling in and feeling more comfortable so i'm sure yourdaughter is too. Ill have ask kathleen in her next letter if she knows your daughter maybe they are friends! So are you the only one coming? If your daughter did not use the 3 invites I would be forever in your debt if she is willing to pass them on. Being in Michigan and only five hours away we have a lot of people who are coming to see her but can't get into graduation. I have six children so some can't go. She said they were able to write their first letters on sun so expect one this week. She said she only had 5 minutes to write though so it will be short. They can only write on Sunday so only expect one per week. She has already received all our letters and cards so I'm sure your daughter had too! I hope this eases your mind a little I know it did mine!
I'm very sorry but it is against RTC policy for one Recruit to add their guests to another Recruits Access List. This was posted on the RTC FB page some time back in response to someone mentioning it.

"U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Ma'am, while this is something that some recruits may have chosen to do, they are instructed not to do so. It is against RTC policy, and compromises safety procedures that we have put in place. If we are able to determine that guests do not belong to the recruit they are placed under, they will not be allowed access to PIR. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the Navy's only boot camp! "

So sorry, I hope it works out, its rough.

Oh, thanks for informing me!

Kenna I think I replied to you with a general post I'm still trying to figure this out.

mom of Megan from Ohio, I walked to the mailbox in the blowing snow and I got the best Christmas present ever!!! a letter from my recruit daughter!!!  I was so happy I cried -happy tears.  Anyone else get a letter??

Melanie, I haven't received a letter yet, but when I talked to my daughter on Christmas Eve she said she was able to write on Sunday, so I'm hoping for one soon.  We are in Michigan so maybe today!  I'm so glad you received yours it is a happy day!  I can't wait!

Danielle, my fingers are crossed!

Hello Melanie, it looks to me that your hubby and mine are chatting on navy dads.

What a coincidence- Megan's dad & I are divorced, but I told him about the site.  He'll be attending the PIR at the Navy Lodge, the same as me - (separate rooms)

I see people ordering coins for their SR for the pir. Where do you get them?

hello, i am new to the navy world, my husband is ship 12 div 089. I recieved a call from him on christmas eve and i have not heard from him since. he told me he has written six letters but was not able to mail them because he was on watch when the mail pickup came through. i hope i recieve something soon! i miss him like crazy! has anyone started booking flights and rooms and cars for graduation? any info would be great.
