Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 083 and 084.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

got my call today, also. my son is in same as yours...said they are a group of brothers now, all working together to finish together.  was the best Christmas present I've gotten, just hearing from him. they sound like a great group of young men, working together, for the best end result for all.  Merry Christmas to everyone!

Got some more letters today, along with 2 filled out questionnaires that he sent back!!!

That is great - do you know when that letter was sent - I'm wondering when the Sunday letter will arrive since post office was closed yesterday

Yes, it was sent out on Monday, Dec 24th!! I was pretty surprised that it got here so fast, considering Christmas Day was in between there - although being so close to GL, it should never take more than a day to get here....last week it took 5 days though! 3 of his friends had their 1st letters 2 days before us. Grrrrrr, LOL!!!

2nd letter today!

Always so good to hear from loved ones!!

Time to write another letter! ^^

I hope everyone's holiday went well!

Less than 5 weeks to go now!!! We write to our son every single day, and send questionnaires, pictures, jokes, etc..., he says he loves it and to keep sending more! Also sent a big envelope to him today, for him to return some mail he wants to keep, but doesn't have room for.

I ordered the coin for Ship 13 - USS Marvin Shields today to give to him at PIR, and I ordered some anchor charms for some random projects I plan to do - including using some for the blue candles to light all the time from now on. I still need to order our PIR ribbons - I'll do that tomorrow. Hotel has been booked for over a week now!!

I think time will go faster & faster now, especially because we're going to FL Jan 17th-20th for a conference, and then it's only 11 more days after that until PIR!!!

You sound like me - I send a letter or card daily and give blank ones to others so they will send as well
Did you put postage on the large envelope (to return) or will they be able to do that
I got the coin as well and the ribbons - I want a James Avery anchor, sailor, or navy charm - I wonder if they have one
Where did you get the blue candles? Sorry about so many questions

We made reservations at Navy Lodge - good reviews
We are renting a car but thinking of returning it Saturday if that is when our son goes to A school - I think he is going to Monterey for CTI training but they mentioned going to Florida as well - he says he doesn't know for sure where he is going but thinks it is Monterey - but it seems everyone else already knows for sure where their A school is - anyway, if he leaves Saturday we might get a room in Chicago - I got a great offer from Groupon so we might stay in Chicago 2 nights - our return flight is Monday

Hi Edsmom!!

I didn't put postage on the big envelope - but only because we sent him with 30 stamps that are print outs from one of those automated machines at the post office, and he hasn't been using them - he bought his own regular stamps - so I reminded him they were in the back pocket of his little address book, and to start using them!! lol. I told him to put 5-6 stamps on the BIG envelope if he felt like he was able to put a good 3 *regular* envelopes worth of mail in it, to send back home for us to keep for him.

I also send him some self addressed stamped envelopes to send the questionnaires and letters back to us - but this time i also left the stamps off - and told him to use those other stamps up for now.

I actually already have some blue candles here to use up for now, from random places. I use Scentsy too (need to order the Navy warmer soon!!). Other than that, I plan to buy some blue jar candles as needed, I want to hit the local Yankee candle store and check out what's on clearance - they have a blue one right now that's being discontinued, 50% off online and in stores - I'm going to print out that poem and put them on those - because it's more cost effective like that. I'd love to order the ones that one of the veteran mom makes for $15 each, but we have a ton going on right now and I need to be very careful with what I am spending. (my husband & I are attending a conference for my business in less than 3 weeks in Florida, then PIR with hotel & food & gas costs, and we're saving for our down payment to start building a new house this spring!! Never mind that it was just the holidays + throwing a going away party for our son before he left. Nothing like that having all of this going on at once to make you feel extremely broke, LOL!!!)

We booked at Navy Lodge too, but I only booked 2 nights - I'm just not sure when he'll be leaving - he mentioned Sunday in a letter, but how could they know anything yet? We keep reading here that they won't know any of this until a couple of days before PIR. And now, i see that A School in Pensacola is backed up and they may be there on hold for a bit, meaning he won't be coming home when we expected. (of course we know anything can happen, and there are no guarantees with the dates, but you know - we were planning according to that, because I don't know what else TO plan for. I also asked him in our letters sent out today if he had heard about that, and if so - WHAT has he heard. I'll be anxious to hear back about that!!

Well, speaking of, I need to go drop these letters off at the post office, along with a package for a friend, since our mailman has come and gone already.

Take care!!!

where do you order the coin from?

dear imomxfour, was wondering where do you order the coin from?

Hello, Ship 13 Div 083 is where my fiance is, im so happy every time i get a letter. I have a question, for the graduation, does anyone knows where is the best option to stay? I'm sorting true different places, but since I'm so new of all this, and also I'm flying from Puerto Rico I'm a little anxious and nervous.
