OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for division 804 and 805.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Hello

when  will they be able to call home and  be able to call home and for how long.

My son is in that division and also left the 10th, I'll take any words of wisdom and experience you can offer.

So thankful for this site and the comments from all the 'veterans'. Hearing that some letters didn't even go out until today helps. Was looking forward to getting a call today. Someone earlier this week told me 'no news is good news'. So I just have to trust that he is doing well and even though it may be tough, this is just the beginning.

Glad I finally found this group.  We are anxious to get a letter, hopefully this week. This is all new for us; our first rodeo.

Just got our first letter today. It wasn't very encouraging. He said he is out of SWCC. But didn't say why. :( he is going to reclassify. Not sure how that will affect his graduation date. I have changed my  login name from BCSWCCmom.Any idea why his return address was not the division I was told in the beginning?

YAY!!!  Got a nice long letter today.  he explained how busy they are and that being in 805 division expectations are higher.  He sounds great and is doing well.  Hope you all get letters this week.

SR departed on Dec 10 and we received our first letter today!  I could barely read the letter through the gush of tears that overwhelmed me.  Sounds like they are training alot and getting yelled at routinely.  I hope others hear from their SRs ....

Yes, I agree that it was a relief to know he is coping and doing well.  Just to have communication period was great!

Our son is in the same Ship and Div.  We got our letters Thursday.  So glad to hear from him!   Now I am waiting for that first phone call.  I can not let the phone out of my reach.

Ok I am new to this and my son is on shipo4 div 804f.

Welcome - My son is also in Ship 04 Div 804 ....

I waited all day thinking we would get a phone call today, but we did not.  We got letters on Thursday.
