For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Places to live in San Diego
I found out we will be heading to San Diego when my boyfriend is done with school! I am so excited because I just love that city and am a water baby. I just have NO IDEA of where the good neighborhoods are and want to start looking for places to live. I also want to get an idea of what the BAH is for that area. I am not sure if that can be posted on here so a message about that would be great! Thank you in advance for the help! :)

My daughter just moved to SD this fall. She loves it. She also has 4 Navy friends that moved out there in the last 6 months. They all live in different areas. There are many nice areas. Some are very expensive, some more reasonable.
I agree with Lady Hamilton, the first ? is will you be getting married & using BAH, or ??? I would think that would make a huge difference on what you may or may not be able to afford.
If you want more info later, let me know.

He will be getting BAH and because of the way some things worked out he will be living off base. His ship is at Naval Base Coronado. We don't mind living away from the base, but we're still talking about it. Starting my research today!

Because of when his divorce was finalized. He won't have BAH "with dependents" but he will be able to stay off base.

If he's transfering to a new area I highly doubt he'll get BAH if he's E4 and below. San Diego is a strict area with BAH. The only way you typically keep BAH after a divorce is if you have dependents or if you have to pay alimony. If anything he'll be placed in a barracks room and a waiting list for Pacific Beacon if already an E4. The CBH in San Diego would have to grant him this BAH and I can tell you this I fought them for 4 months to get my BAH because both my husband and I are in the military and E5's. Sorry I wouldn't get my hopes up.
