Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 087 and 088.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I'm so anxious to hear from my son. Even though I have a thousand questions, I just want to hear his voice if only for a minute. I want the opportunity to wish him a Merry Christmas. My fingers are crossed... now to keep the tears from flowing. :-) Miss him always, but it seems worse are Christmas time.

Merry Christmas! Thinking of all of you. Our arms might be empty but our hearts are filled with love.

Finally got my letter yesterday!  He sounded so upbeat and positive. Although he mentions a handful of times he misses home, he said over all he enjoys B.C because of the heavy training. He was chosen to something called Captains Cup. I soaked in every word and hung onto the letter for 2 hours. He said they get yelled a A LOT but overall if you do as they say and listen it's not too bad.  Hope everyone gets to hear from their loved one soon. It may of been a day late but it was the BEST Christmas gift ever!    BTW Christmas morning, my daughter gave me a box and here it was from Justin (he bought it prior to leaving for B.C) it was a charm with his birthstone for my Pandora bracelet. I tell ya' that kid knows how to make the tears flow.  So proud, and so excited, hoping soon to get a phone call.

DaytonMom/Dad, Yes "A" school in Pensacola. For us it's a 5 hour drive. We're in central Florida, my son left from Jacksonville.  We received 2 letters today both for his girlfriend. I get the bills for the cell phone, car insurance, legal paperwork and taxs but she gets the letters. LOL.

Just got our first letter today, " what a great feelin"!!!

It sounds like they got to write us on Christmas Morning...only 25 minutes to write their letters....I wonder if they have received any letters we wrote them yet...

"He said" he has had made a lot of new friends and only 38 more days to go before graduation. Make sure to write them because they wonder what is going on back home and in the news.

It was just great to get our first letter...Hope to get a phone call from him soon and many more letters hopefully now that they can write home.

Does amyone know what day of training they might be in?

Cute Kitty

Received another letter today (WED) from our son.

Sounds like div 087/088 are doing well...halfway through their training and only 29 more days until graduation!

They have little free time to write....and they love hearing what is going on at home in our letters...so make sure you write them!

Maybe we will get a phone call sometime soon!!!

YEAH!!!I recieved a letter from my son and he said alot of sickness the Chief is hard on them but better this way they are learning alot.  He stated how tired he was and not alot of free time. He did ask me to bring a couple of items to him but said he would not need much in school. I am taking that they are discussing a little bit of school now.  He sounded happy, I wish he was more of a writer. He did tell me that he did not mind my letters and he wants more so I was glad of that.  I write to him like a journal I thought I would bore him to tears.  Has anyone heard from any of them.  If they write they have been fitted, mine did not but I read it on here where some RC has, for thier uniforms does that mean they are doing well. My RC only put he is doing well and passing. I have no idea what he passed.  I cant find the one mom who said her son knew mine.  That may be the only way I know what he is doing...LOL

@snowmanmonShip4DIV087: My son wrote that week before last they had their first inspections and last week they had their first academic test and another inspection. Best I can help you with what he might be passing. :-) My SR was doing great, and then on New Year's Eve came down with that intestinal bug and was in severe pain. I'm hoping he got over it quickly and is back on his feet. The only communication I've had is through letters... no phone call yet.

Received a phone call from our son tonight at 6:50pm. He said he could talk for 18 Minutes,"WOW what a great feelin to hear his voice". He said that they are all doing well and coming together as a group. They are marching alot, food is good and they are halfway through their training.

He sounded great and will see us in 24 days!!!

I have received a handful of letters from our son. Although he has been sick since day 1 of being there he is doing great. Everytime I see him write "I miss everyone so much" I burst into tears. He said although he loves the training, and that the yelling has eased up a bit it is very hard because they are in a seperate world. He has no idea of anything going on as far as news wise. We write and send cards all the time, and he is beyond grateful and wants even more.  Studying, and inspections, standing watch a lot!  He was always a athlete so he is really enjoying the workouts.  Called his girlfriend last night, didn't have much time to talk. She said he sounded upbeat, and looking forward to graduation. She was in tears of joy, I am so glad he called to hear her voice, I hope that gives him that much more movitation to push forward. We can't wait till Feb 1st!!

Got our first call today! So good to hear his voice. Kept it together most of the time. He sounds good. So glad that in less than 3 weeks I will see him face to face. He will be staying in GL for A school. Only a drive away!
