Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 089 and 090.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

So the funniest thing my son shared in his recent letter was that he is making great friends- he described them all by last name then added- that's all we have in the Navy. No wonder we all have a hard time linking our kids.

Ordered a coin tonight but am interested in the "ribbons" that have been mentioned- can anyone fill me in?

Greetings Cara

I ordered the ribbon from LaLa Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons.    Go to uniquememorymakers.com

Thank you!!! Ordered this and even found a car sticker with "Navy Nana" on it! (That's what my SR calls her grandmother). Just wish they had a "Navy Brother" sticker for my son. He's so proud of his sister and wants to put one on his truck. Anyone know where we could find one?

I just went on ebay and they had Navy Brother and Navy Sister stickers, license plate covers - you name it.

Aloha Everyone got my ship coin today! It's beautiful and yes it is a great PIR gift. Thank you for sharing about the ship coin. What a gift! This will be our SRs start of their coin collection of accomplishments they've achieved :)
Has anyone received any calls or letters today?
Hello ship 12 div 089 moms. I just received a call from my SR. Just thought you might like to know and hopefully everyone gets a call. They are on week 4 day 2 he was fitted for his dress uniform. I can't wait to see them at PIR. I have to watch the PIR ceremony video a couple more times so I won't blubber like a big baby.Lol. Hoping everyone gets calls.

I got a call too - she sounded so much better today !!  It was great to hear her voice.

Can't believe that they are 1/2 thru their journey.

@ bonseye, yes I got a call too! That was nice. My daughter sounds good and says their division is doing well.
Hi Melanie, been thinking about you! So glad to hear that you got a call too! I'm attending Sarges Meet & greet hoping you will be there too! I'm staying at the Marriott now! Got a lot of info from Sarges page and I believe it's close by his meet & greet! Will keep in touch with you!
Aloha
Can anyone recommend some nice places to eat and see in Chicago. I have made all our reservations waiting for our recruits coin should be in anytime. Getting ready to start packing. I'm so excited. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Chicago is an awesome town! - I don't think a trip to Chicago (area) is complete without some deep dish pizza from Giordano's.  They have several locations in the Chicago area.  I have only been to Chicago once and this was recommended from friends, the hotel staff and it was rated pretty high on the web.

We did the Sears Tower kinda pricey and a long wait,  Navy Pier (might be too cold) and 2nd City Improv Club (hystertical sketch comedy).  The pizza was one of the highlights. My profile picture is of me and my SR by the Chicago skyline in September - the weather was sooo gorgeous.
