Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 085 and 086.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

We got a call! Can't believe it; I gave up, but he called my husband while he was at his brother's house for 15 minutes to the second! The Div is doing great; they have five flags and a pennant. My son is on track for his ST rate and made his E3 because of college, etc. He was on watch when the group went into the phone room, but got his call later and should get another call next Sunday. (((((((SR)))))))
jillymom:> There is no way they would have their final PFA the day before PIR because that would have them doing BattleStations the night before PIR (overnight 12 hr drill)---finishing too late to make their own PIR. The only ones who will do that are those making up their BattleStations due to failure the first time....or....those who have not passed their PFA yet and are in FIT trying to pass. The last time those SRs get to try the PFA and still be at their PIR is Wed before PIR. If they pass then, they go that night with the next BattleStations group...unless there isn't one that Wed night in a group...then that SR will go the night before PIR. They are then at PIR, in uniform, but in the balcony, too tired to march. You all will see some sailors up in the balcony...and they may look a little sleepy!
I can't believe they will still be doing BS the day before PIR! I was mistaken and thought PFA was after BS, but I realize it is before. At any rate 085/086 is pulling together and I am confidant they will triumph. Push on Recruits- the end is in sight. This week is gas chamber. Yuck!
Well, whether or not we attend a meet & greet, let's try to sit near each other across from our divisions. There is supposed to be a sign showing where they will be. I'll be accompanied by my Airman son in uniform (he'd better not forget his shoes this time like he did when he visited Grandma-lol) so we'll stand out. :)
The last divisions sometimes go Wed night (BattleStations), finishing Thurs morning. There have been so many conflicting dates that we don't know who is going when anymore! So....keep phones handy in the afternoons next week and expect a call at any time! :-) BattleStations is their final test and they can't take it until they have passed all other tests. But after BattleStations...they are sailors! HOOYAH!
Lol, jillymom, that is funny. My stepdaughters husband was Air Force MP, now civilian police. Probably be just 3 of us, me, husband, and youngest daughter. My oldest daughter might not come since one of us has to stay out of the ceremony, and she has work and school. I looked at the pics of PIR, and they do have signs showing where to sit so you are near your SR's Div. I usually can't see anything anyway, since I'm short and have bad eyesight, lol!
If anyone plans on renting car while in great lakes Ace rent a car will waive the security deposit if you bring the brochure that was received in the graduation info package that has ACE listed on it.
Travis called on Sunday for about 20 minutes (: He said the ARPOC along with many others have caught the nasty flu bug thats all over the nation, so he filled in for ARPOC and marched everyone over to the NEX and he was very proud (: He also said SAMT and live fire was very easy and they had another PI and Zone Inspection both of which he got a 5.0 no hits. He is anxious to do Fire Fight this week and only 10 days left until PIR. So so proud of my SR, as I'm sure you all are. I'm anxious to get the " I'm a Sailor" phone call (:
My SR also mentioned on Sunday that she does Firefighting this week.
I am so excited I cant wait until Friday. I am flying out from Atl thursday via delta to ORD O'Hare International Airport
and using ace car rental. Then I am heading to Sarges meet and greet.
Has anyone from division 85 received the I'm a sailor call?
