And Trish from Texas posted this on 2/1/13 - "In a nutshell, Corpsman can only fill billets (job openings) that are available to them the week that they complete EMT training...  The students pick from billets available according to their "GPA" in their class.  Whomever has the highest scores at that point picks first, etc.  Not all classes have C school billets available, while some may have several, it just depends on the needs of the Navy.  Quad Zero means that the Corpsman doesn't have a specialty, and will go on to their first duty station after completing C school as a General Duty Corpsman."

my husband went from A school at San Antonio and then to FMTB east ( Camp Lejeune and graduated at Camp Johnson)  and he was there two months and it was a lot of information that they retained here is the actual website as well as the Facebook page for FMTB east -http://www.tecom.marines.mil/fmtbn-e/UnitHome.aspx  and https://www.facebook.com/FMTBeast/info . This is really useful as to keep up with what your sailor is doing in FMTB as they regularly post pics.  I found it to be rather comforting. There is a great hotel called sunset inn near the base for those who decide to go to FMTB graduation- but be sure to get where the graduation will be held as it is a big base and can be rather confusing i ended up missing my husbands grad because no one could tell me where FMTB grad was :(. He is now stationed back at Sam Houston for PMT. Can anyone give me some insight as to what that entails?

Preventive Medicine Technician - here's some information from navy.mil:  https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/hm_pre_m_tec.htm

Sorry to hear about your FMTB grad experience.  For anyone else headed there, here's info you need to know about graduation at FMTB-East at Camp Lejeune/Camp Johnson, Jacksonville NC in addition to the info on the FMTB-E Facebook page - http://www.navyformoms.com/group/CampLegueneMoms/forum/topics/fmtb-...

NavyWifeandProud, look forward to hearing about your husband's experience with C school and PMT!

Are there any sites for FMTB West?

Dariusmom, there is a NavyforMoms group for Camp Pendleton corpsman moms here:  http://www.navyformoms.com/group/camppendletoncorspmen - ignore their spelling :)

Here's the official website for FMTB West - http://www.tecom.marines.mil/fmtbw/Students/FMST.aspx

The official Facebook page for FMTB-West is here:  https://www.facebook.com/FieldMedWest

So there you go!

By the way, "the needs of the Navy" is an expression you'll be hearing for a few years.  "A" school students can voice their preferences for East or West, just as they do when they submit a 'wish list' for C school etc, but the needs of the Navy will ultimately be the determining factor.

it all depends on his GPA at the end of the class if he has one of the highest he can choose, if not he gets told his orders personally i would tell him to get a prev med with REQ FMTB. i think he can choose east or west but im not entirely sure. hope this helps

What is a prev med with REQ FMTB?

Preventive Medicine Technician, and he's required to attend Field Medical Training Battalion.

he will enjoy it, my husband went to Lejeune after a school and had a blast but be prepared for any kind of weather and no sleep fro the entirety of being at FMTB as it is a 0400 - 0430 wake up everyday

Good afternoon,

My son is there now too, I am cheering him too.Mine also is hoping for FMF
