I can't wait!!! He is flying out to Pensacola the day after PIR so I am a bit sad that we won't have the entire weekend to catch up. Hopefully since he will be close to home ( closer than GL anyway...) during A school I will be able to visit him there too. This is the first time that my son has been away from home. I never thought 9 weeks could seem so long. I am very proud of his choice but it is so hard to be disconnected from him for so long. Since we are from FL I will be bundled up like an eskimo, he may walk right past me and not notice that it's me. :-)
I can't stand the cold but it will be worth it to be able to see him finally. I am really looking forward to hearing about his BC experience on Friday. I was relived that his training will be here in FL. At least that gives me some more opportunities to see him before they send him somewhere far away. His 2 year old brother is really missing him. I am sorry to hear that your son is on medical. I will keep him in my prayers. It must be awful waiting to be cleared.
yes very tough but he is fit for full duty now that happened on friday, not sure what his new rate and job will be so now I am waiting on that. Not only does this journey make a man out of our sons it makes us tougher moms. I hate that he is not here but it is what I raised him for to go out and find his own way in the world. but it is hard for me as a mom
I hope you are getting good news about the new rate and job for your son!!! The PIR was great. I was worried that I would not be able to pick him out of the bunch but I should have known better... It took exactly 4 minutes for me to search all 1,179 graduates and pick him out of the group. :-) He could not find me! He told me it was because all of the moms were crying and bundled up. We all looked the same... Funny how the tables turned. I am so glad that he is back in FL and able to call and keep me up to date now from A school.
I am glad that you had a great time at PIR. Mine got a new job this week, he wasnt happy with it but is doing the best he can with it. He will be in mississippi for school, since he got hurt they wouldnt offer him the MA or EOD, they told him he had to many waivers, he is going to be a personel specialist, so it is what it is He is dealing with it better than Me
What is EOD? I am still learning...I am sorry to hear that he is not happy with the new job. I hope that things will get easier for him and for you. It is so difficult to deal with unexpected changes like that. Especially when you have very little ( or no control at all) over the situation. I will be praying for you both that something really good comes out of all of this.
Hi. My son also graduated 02/01 ( ship 12 DIV 086) and went to Pensacola for A school. We are from St. Petersburg. Not too far from you. Has your sailor gotten settled at school? I got a few calls from my son. He said that waiting for classes to start is the worst... I am just very glad that he is back in FL where it's warm!!!
Hi there, we also live in Sarasota! Our son is headed to Groton next week after completing Nuke School in Charleston. Nice to "meet" you!
My son just left on April 2nd anyone else's ??
