OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 808.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

We made reservations at spring hill suites in Waukegan

We made our reservations for the Ramada Inn. About the same rate as the Navy Lodge . They have complimentary waffle breakfast, shuttle to graduation and an indoor pool. They also have a meet and greet Thurs night, but not sure if Ill go to that one or Sarges.

Welcome to 800 BC. As you will eventually figure out it is a bit different for your sons that other division groups. Their days start earlier and involves ALOT of PT(Physical Training).

My son graduated from a 800 division in 2010, so I know exactly how you are feeling. If there is anything I can help with, please let me know. For those of you who have sons going to PreBuds after BC you can join that group and there will also be plenty of moms and dads further along that can answer your questions or address concerns. Your PIR group that you are in now is the best place to start to get to know others who will be on the same road as you.

paulah-are you talking about hotel and meet n greet reservations?  Am I supposed to being something different?  Love that we have a place to ask questions.

Sorry for the typo...fixed it :-)

We made reservations at the Navy Lodge and are going to Sarge's Meet and Greet. I am looking forward to meeting you all!!

i booked at the Ramada Inn and are planning on going to Sarge's Meet N Greet.  Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I got my first letter today!  My son sounded great and said he is making a lot of good friends.  We are staying at the Springhill Suites and going to Sarge's meet and greet...can't wait!!

Yea Orangel! We are celebrating with you. Getting any communication just refreshes the soul and put a spring back in my step! I truly felt my spirit wilting waiting to hear from him. Now for that first phone call....

Anyone from Div 808 get a call today? I was looking forward to one, but it's been quiet all day....

No call for me today either :(

No Call today :(.  Was really hoping for one but I was wondering if they really were going to get to call on Saturday's as they were told.... Maybe they making them think they missed their call time and then will give it to them on Sunday-I will be praying.
