Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Leaving for BC 3/4 through 3/7/2013
Hi everyone again - My son leaves on 3/6 from Youngstown, OH. He has been in DEP since April last year. We are so very proud of him & know that this is the right path for him. Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you at PIR.

My son Jacob is on ship 12 and div 168. We got the box and form letter on Monday. The way I understand it guys and girls can be on same ship and div during the day and at night they sleep with div 167 of girls/guys. My son left for boot camp on 3-5-2013.

Yes, when there are integrated divisions (containing males and females), the females of the two brother divisions share a compartment and the males of the two divisions share a compartment and they train together. (See Ship/Division--How it Works.)

Just thought I would update in case anyone is still following this discussion. Got the letter & box today. He arrived at RTC on 3/7. PIR is 5/3. Made my day!
