For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Ok moms - Looking for buddies to share BC stories. Daughter is in 157 and still waiting for her first real letter. Call was great on Saturday. She passed initial swim test. When asked what the toughest part was so far she said 'the girls fight all the time', The boys across the hall fought and they got IT because of it. But otherwise she's good. Also, any of you staying at the Navy Lodge?

Daughter is 158. Received my first letter on Tuesday, but we live near RTC, so it came quickly. She also passed her swim test. She was excited that she has met so many friends!

Found out from my son that he passed the 1st physical test (sit-ups, push-ups and 1.5 mile run). So he was pretty happy about that. He said now the goal is just to improve on all of his numbers. He also said several people in 157 & 158 had their wisdom teeth taken out this week. He had his removed a few years ago, so he wasn't part of that group. Hoping to receive the 1st letter today. I don't know anything about the Navy Lodge - is it open to anyone to stay there? We are planning on staying at the Holiday Inn that was on the pamphlet that came with the form letter.

Navy Lodge was really cheap ($66/night) and just around the corner from the base. Had to grab it! Just got her letter and when I talked to her Saturday she didn't say anyting about wisdoms coming out! Yikes!
I'm trying to figure out car stuff - don't want to rent for the whole 5 days (Wed-Mon) cause of cost, but I need to be able to take her out for lunch/dinner. Have a call into Sarge to see what he thinks.

Chele - were you the one that had the rules down for if your SR can visit you if you stay at The Navy Lodge? If so - can you copy and paste the rules here. I've looked on Facebook but can't see where it was posted.

It wasn't me. I can ask around though. If she can't come to the Lodge, we'll go somewhere else. As long as I get to hold her in my arms, it will be okay. I'll yell to ya when I get some info.

It was Rani that posted it on Facebook and they can come to the Navy Lodge since it is off base. Apparently there is another Navy hotel that is on base that you have to get permission to have them come. I was confusing the two.

Thanks for checking it out (and finding it faster than me!) I didn't think there would be a problem. Are you staying at the Navy Lodge? The only 'issue' I have with it, is no restaurant or shuttle, but I'm renting a car for 2 days so I can cart her around. Then Sarge will bring me to the airport.

Hi Chele, my son is in 157 and I got that callll on the 14th and nothing since. My husband and I have booked at the Lodge and bought tickets already, can;t wait for the 26th

I just received the first letter from my son. It was very upbeat and he says he's made lots of friends. He has passed his baseline physicals and swim qualifications and is doing well. I don't think he has received any of my letters yet but I have written him one every day since I received his address. I am so proud. Why are there so many sr's getting their wisdom teeth lulled. Is this a Navy thing?

Not exactly sure why, but I know that if one gets infected or pushes another around, it causes much more time away from training. Most young people wait until they cause damage to the other teeth before having them removed, so it makes sense just to get rid of them straight away. We do not really need them anymore now that we have forks and knives. lol
Isn't reading the letter awesome?!?! I've reread mine 8 times in the past 4 hours!
