While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 139 and 140.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

My son left for BC on Jan 22. We've had a few calls here and there, first started out on Saturdays then Wednesdays. The last call was that he was going to be held back 2 weeks and that was a week and half ago. We've got a few letters at first he did not say much, my sailor son really was not much of a writer however when he called I was one happy Navy mom cuz then he talked alot and he's not much of a talker either and I loved hearing his voice.
Looking forward to meeting all the other Navy parents and joining the sailors at graduation -

Jesse...my son didn't call last week because he ended up on watch just as the division was allowed to make calls. He said they might get calls today but wasn't sure. He said they earned their first division flag and have some more tests coming up this next week. They are still trying to come together as a team but getting better. My SA said they just passed their pre battlestations test...so he was excited about that. I think their next flag is for physical fitness. I hope you get a call today from your SA. We're halfway through bootcamp! My SA also mentioned pictures would be this week.

Hi all! Rec'd a letter from my SR today in division 139 :) He said that yes, this week is "hell week" : 2 tests, their PFA, inspections and marching tests...going on memory since I don't have the letter right in front of me. He did say that they didn't get weekend phone calls this past weekend as the RDCs like to leave the phones for the newer divisions. He did say that they were due a call due to getting a 4.5 out of 5 average on a test (or inspection...not sure). Overall, it was an upbeat letter and he is very much looking forward to PIR! AREN'T WE ALL!!!

Thanks SailorMomSteph(ship13/div139) , If you got your letter yesterday he may have written & mailed it at the end of week 4, Hell week. I think the 4.5 are academic test scores, could be an overall score. Now well in to and almost at the end of week 5 and still waiting for anther phone call or a letter. Dad always said, no news is good news

Kat1959, his letter was dated Mar 10 and he referred to "this week brings with it 'hell week', so I took it as the upcoming week (which is now). It makes sense because the week prior when he called his gf, he told her they were starting week 3, sooooo.... seems like the over div. are rec'ing letters referring to this being their hell week as well.

Got a call from our sailor yesterday. He said it was day 5-2, training week 5 day, 2 Tuesday. He said he was doing great, passed his tests and looking forward to the last big academic test, PT ect... next week before Battle Stations.
Battle Stations is at the end of training week #6, which is about Boot camp week 7 according to diannep here on this site.
