Hello everyone!

I need some help here. I am the point person for BS21 and since OPSEC does not allow public posts, I need anyone who has recently been in contact with their SR to PM me. Thank you for all of your help!

What is a "Point person" and what is your purpose to get in touch with all of these Sailors/members?

Also, "OPSEC does not allow public posts"....pertaining to what exactly? This whole site is public, what specifically are you referring too?

I have never heard of that term (Point person) and would appreciate an explanation. In addition, as per OPSEC and PERSEC, I advise all Members of this PIR Group to wait for some sort of explanation first.

I am asking these questions as ChrissyD2013 just joined N4M within the last 24 hours and while I have viewed her page and it seems just fine, it is:

1. A term I have never heard (in two years time that I have been on this site)

2. It is about BST-21

3. and the Discussion topic is too vague for my "spidey-sense".

Just making sure it is not spam. :-) not trying to be unfriendly (have had serious spamming, flooding and posers on here before)

Thank you,

FTLW

I am new to N4M. Is there a way to email you privately? I don't want to get into any trouble here. Just working with parents of SR's for PIR 4/5

Yes, You can Private Message Members on here through the PM system. You have to be Friends with them first. I will send you a Friend Request. Then if you like you can ask me what you would like and I will guide you on if it is okay to post publicly and where to do so.

The Friend Request will show up over in the far right hand column of any page next to the Friends icon in your Status box. The Status Box looks like this:

(Your Username in the Dark blue bar)

Sign Out

Next "friends" it normally says invite. If you have a  request it will look like;

Friends (1 request) (Or however many folks have requested to friend you.

This is a great Discussion to read that helps navigate the site as well:

Sending now...you may have to refresh the page to update the Status box and see the request.

We're "Friends" on here now.  I sent you a Message. Lookin the Status Box next to "Inbox" and it should say : (1 New) next to it. Refresh the page if it does not. Just click on it or Inbox and then you can reply to me.

FTLW, it isn't spam.  She is from the FB page for the 900 DIV/PIR4/5/13 groups.  She is keeping track of the SR's and BS21 dates so that we can find out what is going on without breaking OPSEC rules.  It is being handled through private messages.

Thanks, I'm discussing it with ChrissyD2013 through PM's on here.

To clarify..."Point person" has nothing to do with RTC or this site :-) and ChrissyD is just looking for BST-21 dates to help some folks out. :-)

Here is some additional info as to how we handle trying to get the BST-21 info out to the Members:

How we handle potential BST-21 dates on the PIR Groups here is IF the Members get any info they either pass it through PM's on here OR they let diannep know so she can compile a list and send it out in a Group Message privately.

She has been doing this for some time now and has knack for it :-)...and is pretty spot on about "guestimating" dates for Divisions as well. It's one "job" as a veteran on herre that I wouldn't tackle LOL!

Back when we could post it BEFORE the fact she always did so and put it in the "Battlestations" Discussion. Now, she adds them there as well, after the fact, so that we can see how it "flowed".

Thank you FTLW!
