Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Husband left for BC 3/27/13
My husband left for boot camp two days ago, I'm already going crazy! Anyone else have a recruit that left this date?? The phone call he got was brief, maybe 20 seconds, but he was sweet and made two videos on my phone for me and our 6 mo son before he left so that's been a life saver.

My son arrived at boot camp last night and it's a mothers nature to worry. Must be much tougher for a wife though. I'm hoping the two months will fly by, and can't wait for PIR.

My son left for BC on 3/27/13 as well and I was a mess. Each day has gotten a little easier. My son has left the nest and so now I must let him fly. I can't imagine how hard it is for a wife.

My boyfriend left for BC the same day, 3/27/13. I find myself about to explode with how much I miss him. I've already written 4 letters. I can not wait to send them! I just keep reminding myself each day is one less day apart, and another day closer to PIR.

Luckily I have a two week vacation with my family to help time pass, and then we're headed all over the place for the great grandparents to see the baby before we leave for our base. The void space in ordinary days are really hard, I find myself just day dreaming about him all the time. Sounds silly, but I don't know what else to do! And crying is my middle name anymore, gah I miss him so much.

I see you have joined DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in March. You will meet others there with loved ones who left the same day or this week who may end up having PIR together. You have also joined Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the members); Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening for your recruit and the other Pages will have important information for you, such as that found within When Will the Recruits be Paid? and Information for Spouses. You may also want to join Girlfriends, Fiances,and Wives of Sailors. Once you know your SR's division number and/or PIR date, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and join the group for that once it has been created.

My son left the same day. He is my first born so this is extremely difficult, I understand your feelings. We all must remain strong and prayerful. Take care of yourself and your amazing little one. :-)

srwife3698 that's great news! I think we received something from our son but we weren't home. FedEx left a note. Hopefully I'll be home in time to get it tomorrow. Hope you're doing ok.

Same with me, FedEx left a tag for me to sign . Got his form letter today. PIR is the 24 May, just like we thought Memorial Day Weekend. How cool is that for them.

That is pretty neat. Those with Sailors staying in GL will also have Liberty on Memorial Day.
