Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 159 and 160

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Booked my flight to watch my SR graduate. Right now southwest has them for $99 for anyone looking for great deals :)

Where are you flying from? We just booked ours as well (500 for two round trip). Your prices sound better!!! LOL

GA when my grandmother looked last week it was going to $500 + so we def saved some money

We are in our last month!!! I hope this month flies by I'm so ready to see my SR!!

So glad that time is going by a bit quicker now....though not quick enough! Lol. I am so looking forward to mail tomorrow...I live for Wednesdays! I know this week will be tough on them so I'm praying for strength for my SR and the others in his division right now.

Navymom,  isn't it amazing how we look forward to the little things? My letters arrive on Thursdays and you better believe I leave work on time and come straight home!! LOL Even if he writes a couple of lines-it it makes my week.

Three weeks to go!!

Navymom my SR is in DIV 159 as well. My letters dont come till Thursday & the day goes by so slow until I get home to my letter :)

I thank The Lord our mail comes at about 10am....only 3 more hours! I'll post comments if he says anything you all might want to know! Lol
Thanks for the news! It's so good to hear especially when there have been no phone calls for a couple weeks. 3 more weeks!
What is a Marlin Spike? What is week 65 or 71? What are 60 hits? What is Hell Week? Is that the same as Battle Stations?

Marlinspike is the replica ship that was built by Universal Studios? for the SRs to learn on. It's where Battlestation 21 is done, which is their final test before becoming Sailors. The weeks are counted by the week and day...ie 1-1 would be week one, day one of Bootcamp. I think hits are misses when their doing weapons training. Hell week is week 4 when they have their PFA...physical Fitness test, 3 inspections and their second academic test. I'm sure someone more qualified can give you more info but that's the basics! lol

I cant stop reading my letter my SR seems to be doing alot better, except for the fact that he wouldnt go to medical with his sinus headache because he didnt want to limit his duty. Im so happy they passed the Marlinspike. He said the RDCs said they were going to get like 60 hits and when the instructors said they only got 2 the RDCs didnt believe it. His bunkmate (last name begins with G) and they get along, he is also really good friends with (last name begins with A) Do these guys belong to anyone on here? I hope everyone has a great weekend! We are so close to graduation :)
