Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 185 and 186
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

He shipped out March 14 out of Indianapolis....there were only 3 of them. I can't wait til graduation..i am sure neither can they. I am so thankful for this site...it has been comforting. I have already mailed 2 letters...i am eager for his next call. Go Navy!!

Super bummer that our SR got to call Saturday but only had enough minutes on his calling card to talk to his dad for a few minutes and then got cut off. I need to find a better calling card! :) At least his info was confirmed; Ship 09 Div 185. Now I can work on planning the trip to IL and figuring out which 4 people are going to PIR since our son is loved my so many and really has a great support from both sides of our families! Looking forward to connecting with all the other Navy Moms and hopefully meeting at PIR 05/10.
Has both divisions (185 & 186) from Ship 11 been moved to Ship 9? And is this permanent and do I need to change the address on the mail I send in the future? If anyone could answer these questions it would be much appreciated. :)
My son called Sat. Said they changed ships . From ship 11 to ship 9. And I had just ordered ship 11 ( USS KEARSARGE stationary too.) Now they are on USS John F. Kennedy. Back to ZAZZLE to order different stationary. Anyway I sent a letter today and wrote ship11 Div 185 because he did not say to change it. If you find out let me know please! Take care and see ya MAY 10.
I was on Zazzle the other day and didn't even think about the stationary...what a great idea! I ordered a Ship 9 Challenge Coin yesterday which I am excited to get so that I can bring it with me to PIR. Hopefully with the change they can reroute the letter to your son?
Hey Momma Jo, I've looked thru the posts and seen both Div 185 and 186 are assigned to Ship 09 "US Kennedy", due to maintenance issues.. I was wondering the same thing.. kept seeing 185, then found Michelle and TXNavymom13 who are 186 and used to be Ship 11, now are Ship 09.. plus.. they changed the name of our group to Ship 09 Div 185/186.. so.. I think it's safe to say, yes
Yup..I agree...too many references to Ship 9 within all the posts. So, I sent off two letters today with the new Ship 9 Div 185 address...fingers crossed that they get to him without any problems. Hope everyone is doing well as we all count down the days...only 38 more days my fellow Navy Moms/families of PIR 5/10/13...Woohoo :)
Got a letter today from my son. He had ship 09 Div 185 on the envelope. I immediatly sent a post card back so he would get some thing everyday.
