Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 181 and 182.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello, all hang in there, this is my first time as a mom, but I am a retire Army wife so I understand the time away from love ones and it is hard but time will go by so quickly that before you know it PIR will be here. Remember no news is good news when the sailors are going thru Boot Camp. I have not gotten any letters but my son is not one to write too much unless is a text, but I did get two phone call which is great. Just an FYI for those who don't have a hotel reservation the navy lodge does not charge for the rooms in advance so if something was to happened with your SR you would not loose any money also southwest does not have any change fee for their flights so is good on that part only problem is they only fly to Midway. If I can be of assistance to any one just ask and I will try my best to answer. Like I said retire Army wife with 22yrs experience with military life.

RetireArmyWife&NavyMom thanks so much for your post. Thanks for the information!

Yippee I just got a letter. He sounds great. Doing well with PT and Inspections! Cant wait to see him in that uniform!

Got a letter and another phone call from my SR today!!! Feeling so blessed!

I did too. I went home for lunch and found letters for me and his gf then this afternoon at work I just happened to notice my phone light up, it was on silent and it was that 847 area code. I was worried for a moment that he was in trouble because it's during the week and he has already been allowed to call twice. My older sailor who went through last year only got 3 calls the entire time and one of those was the "I'm here" call, and one was the "I'm a sailor" call. I am also feeling very blessed. His letters were down but it's been days since he wrote them and he sounded much better on the phone. He says the hardest part now is missing us. <3

Just received a phone call from my Seaman Recruit! I am turning cartwheels! He sounded great and said he bought stamps and everything to write! Says his division is doing well and they are getting time to call and write! He is also helping design division flag! He is very proud and glad to do so and loves to draw! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND YOUR NAVY LOVED ONES!

So glad you got a call. It is so good to hear their voices! My SR was trying to explain to me what the designs are so far.

Got a call tonight from my son div 181.  He sounds great and seems to really be ok with everything, so proud of him.  He said tonight was a scheduled call, I was really worried when I saw it was him calling!  I got to talk for about 25 minutes and then he wanted to call his grandparents.  His girlfriend got 7 letters today.  I am still awaiting a letter from him.  He said his RDC is nice and treats them good.  Can't wait for May 10th so I can hug him!!!!

I cant wait for May 10th as well! What ship is your son in mine is 13!

Hi Bonnie.my son is ship 13 div 181.nice to meet you.
