Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 217 and 218

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good morning!

Cute Kitty

Good morning. My son is in division 218. :)

Hi Aileen,  Did you get to talk to your son today?  My son is in the same division as your son.  He said it's a good group of guys.  What's your son's name?

Good Morning.  My son is in division 218.  We haven't heard anything from him other than the "I'm here" call and the form letter.  I'm praying he's okay.  Have any other moms heard from their future sailor?

No phone call from my guy yet. I just got my letter yesterday. It's hard to wait. I wish they would post pictures, it would make it easier for us to cope.
My daughter is 217 has anyone gotten a call yet

Good Morning!!  My daughter is 218.  We've received The Call, The Box and The Letter, but nothing personal yet.

We've booked our flights, and so far, have a reservation at The Residence Inn in Waukegan....though might change if I can find a place that has kitchen AND pool.  :-)

I'm relieved to know I'm  not the only mom who hasn't received a phone call or personal letter.  I've spent a lot of energy debating with myself -- wondering if it's just the way this Ship operates, or wondering if my son was being punished, even thought perhaps he took a nap on Sunday instead of writing home.  The imagination is a powerful thing, lol.

Hi AJ's Mom...sorry I tried to reply to this last night, but I guess it didn't go through from my phone.  Big hugs, and hang in there.  I've heard that some SRs only get to make the 3 calls (Here, Alive, Passed), while others are given other opportunities to call, depending on the mood of their RDC.  It does seem like it is taking forever for the personal letters to come, but they will :-)  Hang in there, Mama!

Thanks for the kind words Birdie's Mom!  Still no word, but hey it makes checking the mail a lot more exciting.  lol

My son had MEPs in St. Louis and flew out of there.  How about your daughter?  What's her rating?  (I had to really think about what the Navy calls a job, but I got it!)  :-)

Navy lodge has little kitchens

Thanks aileen3mc!  I haven't made it far enough through all the info to know if Navy Lodge has a pool...and idea?  If not, don't worry...I know it must be in the info somewhere :-)  I wonder how many SRs are in 218...
