Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 217 and 218

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I looked it up and they do not have a pool. :(

Darn...maybe we'll stay with Residence Inn after all.  Microwave isn't my favorite, but it's just for a couple days :-)

Any word yet from your SR?

My son is Master at arms

My boy called today!  We talked for 39 minutes.  WOW!  He sounded great.  Said it took awhile to fill his division so they've only had three days of training.  He's a little concerned about learning everything in time for graduation, but I told him they must not be worried about it or they would have delayed graduation.  Also stressed that all that waiting time should help them work as a team since they had time to get to know each other.  I'm so happy I had Navy for Moms to give me insight into the right things to say.  I hope everyone got their call today.

Got my phone call was so nice to hear her voice all is good, thank you God.....
Yes I got a call. He could only talk for five minutes. I an mixed on how he sounded. He didn't really say much and I wonder why such a short call. It was good to talk to him though, hear his voice. :)

I'm sorry you didn't get to talk longer.  I know it was a relief to hear my son's voice!

Got a call from our son yesterday. He said it's going good...he's even having fun!  He's not homesick and the food is good.  It made us feel great to know he is ok and doing well!  He said there's a rumor that the Nukes won't fly until Tuesday...I hope for him that's true because I'd like him to enjoy some leave but on the other hand I booked our flight home for Saturday thinking he would be flying out Saturday morning.  Ut oh....

My son is a nuke too.  I wonder if they're becoming friends.  We talked about quite a few different things but I didn't think to ask  him if he was becoming friends with anyone in particular.

He also said the food was pretty good, but mentioned they served the pierogies with marinara sauce not butter and onions like we do.  I asked him if he was sure it wasn't really bad ravioli.  lol

Thanks for sharing the rumor, my son didn't seem to know when they might fly out.

AJ's Mom - Got a letter from my son...he said he's leaving for the airport at midnight on graduation day.  Just thought I update you with that info.

Hi Mama's....I've been having trouble posting from my phone for some reason :\

Got my call, too!  Was so great to hear Birdie's voice :-)  She said that everyone was doing a great job of working together and helping each other.  She said everyone gets along pretty well, and that they have a couple of really spectacular RDCs :-) All I can say to you is great job raising your kids up right!  Great parenting goes a long way to making great kids that turn into wonderful adults, and based on what my Birdie said, she's on a ship full of really good people :-)  LOVE IT!  She also said the food is mostly pretty ok, but on the days that the offerings leave a bit to be desired, she hits the salad bar.

Big hugs to all of you!
