Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 812 and 813
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there ladies!!!

The section in the family guide that you will want to pay attention to is "Post Pass-in-Review Liberty" and "Sailors transferring to Great Lakes "A" Schools". Those two sections describe it pretty well.
They will transfer over to the other side right after PIR. They will get liberty and they will have a curfew. Make sure they get back to base in plenty of time. They may have a long walk from the gate to the barracks. They do not want to be late. They will know all the rules. Enjoy your time!
That I could not tell you because no one that I have talked to really has insight on the subject. They will get weekend liberty but do have to report back every night. My husband is also going to be in BUD/S prep right after PIR, we'll get roughly an hour from what I understand and then they go to the "other side" to check in and then can have liberty on Friday. The checking in part can take up to 5 hours.
An extra surprise - today, two more letters. They each contained a questionnaire I was glad about that...I was sending him a copy in each letter I sent, until I got one back. I think he got the message and now I can include more paper for my own letter writing now that the envelopes are free from the questionaire.
One letter said that he slept 5.5 hours the night before the letter was written...says that is the most since he has arrived!
My letter today said he had a 6-hour sleep and loved every minute of it! Is anyone familiar with the Chicago area and have any ideas on things to do on Saturday?
Navy Pier is very popular if the weather is decent, its like a boardwalk with shops and restaurant. Sears Tower if you dont mind heights. Great Adventure is close by and so is the Gurnee Mall (Its huge).
Thank you! We can get a lot done in a day with a few leads. But honestly, if our SR wants to relax at the motel I'm very good with that also. I'm pretty sure he's going to want some computer time.
Does this mean things will get easier on them!
We're planning on bringing board games and cards and our SR's favorite pillow, in case he just wants to "chill".
Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, the Museums...a River ride to see the city.
The Cubs play at 3:00 - but I don't know if the game will run too late to get them back to their barracks in time for curfew.
