Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 219 and 220

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Here is the link for what your SRs can earn while in BC. It will explain the "Hall of Fame"  as well as the other flags your SRs can earn while in BC. This link is also in the pages section which is right under the group members icons on the right side of the main page.

Flags and Pennants that your DIV can earn while at BC

Thank you so much for the information! It is something good!!

My Marine just graduated A school in Pensacola today and is on his way to Cali tonight...unfortunately, my NEAR future Sailor (in div 219) who is going to A school in Pensacola will JUST miss his brother!  I had sure hoped they would be in Pensacola together~one is aeronautical electrician and the other mechanical aeronautics...especially since BOTH miss their sister's wedding on June 8th.  Feeling a bit sad and sure missing both of my boys!  I've just gotten the one letter from my SR, but I read it over and over and it seems to keep me going.  It helps to hear from you all that they are doing well.  Tell 'your' son's to tell 'our' sons to write their momma's!  lol

That's awful that both boys will miss your daughter's wedding! I know it must be a stressful time for you! Like you, I've only received one letter from my son-I was waiting outside for the mailman today, but it didn't help. Maybe tomorrow will be my lucky day! I'm just counting down the days til we leave for Great Lakes. I really do miss him and his sense of humor!

It's Thursday! We should get letters today, moms!! Thank goodness my mail comes at 5:00, otherwise I would skip work every Thursday so that I could stalk the mailman. Fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear about the wedding, Matt's mom. That's hard on you, on top of the sadness of missing them both, I'm sure. You must be very proud of your boys though and so excited they have chosen to do something wonderful with their future! Hope you get a letter today and it helps ease the sadness a bit.

I really hope I get a letter today.....

Me too. My mom got one today so that means he was able to write on Sunday. C'mon 5:00!!

I got two letters on Thursday...one was written on Mother's Day and was such a sweet, kind letter.  I have read it several times by now, and STILL makes me cry! lol   He said this was H-LL week (week 4) which sounds tough, but I am confident they will do well....just keeping the prayers going. Thanks for your kind words ladies.  Has anyone heard whether 219 got the Hall of fame for sure?  If I understood it, it is for doing the best on inspections, PT, etc.  I am so proud of them!

My son didn't say anything more about Hall of Fame but he did say they were doing well and inspections and weapons were going well. Looking forward to hearing how week 4 went for them! It's tough but I know our guys are working hard! I have been sending my son news articles every now and then and because I didn't know if he could get the clippings for sure (it's up to the RDC usually), I have been copying and pasting news into a Word document. He said there is no need to do this and really loves the news. Several letters have mentioned how isolated he feels and so he likes to know what's going on in the world. I try to pick positive stuff. Just wanted to pass that along in case you all didn't know you could send them. Hang in there ladies. We can do this! It's almost PIR time!

MOMS~I got a 2 minute call tonight!!  We live in Oklahoma.  When I answered the phone, a Petty Office said his name and said he had my son next to him and would like me to talk to him for 2 minutes in light of the damage in Oklahoma.  My heart fell to my feet when I first heard the Petty Officer speak...scared he could be calling for other reasons.  My son got on the phone....sounded exhausted....and said that they had heard about the tornadoes and he was worried about us.  After we spoke about what had happened, I was quickly able to ask him how he had survived Hell week.  He said he'd made it through and the division was "just on the edge of getting the Hall of Fame"!!!  I asked him when he thought he might be able to call again, and he said he thought they might be able to call on THURSDAY (unable to give me a time frame).  SO....Ladies...keep your phones near and charged up!!  Oh, and BTW, we are ok from the tornadoes...Pray for Moore, OK!

Matt's Mom-Thank goodness ya'll are okay. The Moore tornado was just awful. And thanks for sharing about the possible calls!! I will be sitting with my phones all day!!! Would love to talk to my boy!

Thank you for sharing the info you got from your son, and I'm glad you are ok after the tornados.
