We just finished sending in the last of the waiver paperwork (the doctor's report) for my son last week and this morning he called to tell me the recruiters are taking him up to Nashville today to take the ASVAB and putting him in a hotel tonight. First thing tomorrow morning he goes to MEPS.
Is it possible that he will be sworn in tomorrow? Also, will they give us the date he ships out to boot camp right away or will it be another period of "hurry up and wait?" Of course this is all contingent on the physical going okay, but I'm sure it will. Thanks!

I'm glad he has a ship date. When is it? You can go to the bottom of the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for... and find the group for the month he ships and join that to meet others with loved ones leaving that day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. I also suggest you join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and New Members Stop Here and check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there.
Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer him to some good links on there.

God! I hope it wasn't me. Well, the problem with that is the good goes out with the bad. I know when I post a response, I take some time to post and put thought and energy into composing a response. Often, I google/research the question before answering. Many don't post anymore because thinking is "Why putting a lot of effort into posting when the discussion can get summarily dismissed and deleted afterwards."
I wish you and your sailor the best of luck in the future.
Heavens, no. It wasn't you. I hated to delete it but the person was really upsetting me at at time when I'd already expressed how stressed out I was and that I was hoping for support. Then they just wouldn't stop responding negatively. I tried to find a way to block them, but couldn't. I sent you a message.
No, it was me and I really wasn't trying to be negative or unsupportive, but it came off that way at the time. I'm sorry that I upset you and I am glad that you now have a future Sailor.
Thank you. Please consider it water under the bridge. :)
:o)
