Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 219 and 220

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

First -- thanks for the heads up about the calls coming today --- I got my call and was so excited!

Second -- they have to receive the phone and other personal items at the airport.  They are not allowed to bring the phone back to RTC after PIR.  He could have it if he was staying in Great Lakes for A school, but you said he is leaving.  Perhaps your son could ask some of his buddies if they have family members meeting them at the airport.  His phone could be given to someone else's family to carry to the airport if your brother can't make it.  Many of the sailors arrive at the airport together and have many hours to wait for flights.   I would think that another Navy family would be happy to do this for your son.  I suggest that he find someone who is also headed to Pensacola since their travel arrangements may be the same.

Matt's Mom..we are going to the airport to give our SR his phone...if we could work it out, I'd be happy to take your sons's as well. (Our SR is headed to Pensacola as well..)

that might work out...I will ask my son about doing this in the next letter so he can start trying to process it.  His nickname (if you want to tell your son apparently is "Ironman"  (yes, you can figure what his job is....lol).  I will keep in touch.  Thanks for the offer!

Sure, we'll get it to him somehow!!

Cinderanb, I would SO love to work things out with you so we could get the phone passed on!!  It becomes increasingly important as we have found a website that he will be able to access Saturday (if he is allowed) so he can keep up with his sister's wedding on June 8th.  I just sent the phone to my brother and he will bring it to the graduation.  Our hope is to get pics of him in his uniform texted to us so we can print them off for display at the wedding the following day.   Do they travel to Pensacola on Saturday?  As for the graduation day, I have no idea at this point how long my brother (his uncle) plans on staying there as I am not sure if he will need to get back that eve to his farm.  I am ASSUMING Matt will be free to mull around on base (possibly unescorted) and meet up with you before you head to the hotel that eve--any ideas what time frame this normally occurs?  Anyways, if you are still interested, I can give you my contact information, and we can talk privately about the details.  THANK YOU!

Sure..I'll ask Hubby if he has any ideas!, would love to work something out!!
Matt's Mom-I talked with my husband and he thinks the best thing to do is write to our boys and tell them what we're planning and they might be able to coordinate the passing of the phone. I was going to send you a private message, but I can't figure out how! I was going to give you my SR's name and get your info as well...

Cinderanb~email me with your sons info and I will respond with mine, my email is:  lined85@yahoo.com  Thanks!

Matt's Mom-did you get my email yesterday?

Cinderanb....No I did not get it.  Please recheck address.  I am retyping in caps, sometimes its easy to get the #'s and letters mixed up.   Look forward to hearing from you soon.  I hope to get his last letter off to him tomorrow (OK mail service is SLOOOOOW!   Anyways, if all else fails, I can set up a 'rendezvous' with phone numbers etc. by texting his and my brothers phones.

Okay, just sent you an email...if you don't get it soon, report back!!

Janet had a great idea - My son is going to Pensacola and although my husband and I will be heading back to NC on Friday night - we will have family that will be handing his phone off at the airport (all of our family is in the Chicago area).....I'm sure holding 2 phones would not be a big deal.  PM me and I will give you our information to pass to your brother.
