Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 273 and 274
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Hey "Moms" of 273 and 274! Let's all get to know each other so we can meet at Sarge's on Thursday 7/25! Glad to hear some of you are receiving letters. Being in California, I probably won't get mine as quickly. I have not been posting on PIR 7/26 often. Busy at work and keeping busy at home to keep my mind off things. Hope you all have a great day!
I am from Northern California and I am going to PIR...What is Sarge's? It would be nice to meet up with some other mom's, i think I am going by myself. Have a nice evening.
Sarge's is a Meet and Greet for the family members of the SR's. It is on the Thursday night before PIR. I would love to meet everyone!

Hey angelalovesD and other moms of 273 and 274!! Welcome! I will be anxious to meet all of you. We will definitely plan on being at Sarge's Meet and Greet Thursday night. I also have tried to keep busy, but the letter today was great!! She sent her dad a special letter- I think for Father's Day. I know he will be so excited. We are staying at either the Residence Inn or the Springhill Suites. I have reservations at both places right now. Waiting to see if we get an upgrade at the Residence Inn!!
Well, I hope we do meet at Sarge's. I want to actually meet other Moms in person to give them big hugs because we all have been going through this together with virtual hugs, and I think we need real ones!!!! We are staying at the Navy Lodge. I have friends in the military and they swore it's clean (it's the Navy were talking about here!), and it is across the street from the base. We started with a reservation at Residence Inn, but changed as the Navy Lodge is $66 a day!
Hello all you moms out there. I have a son in 273. I am so excited to make the trip to chicago. My son got married before he left for BC so I have not heard anything from him yet. But his wife did get a letter. We are totally new to all this military stuff so all your information has been really helpful. I sure hope we make it to this meet and greet.
Hope everybody is having a wonderful day!!!!
Good to hear from you!!!! I am having a blue day today. Are you doing alright?
Hi Moms, Well another day closer to PIR! I am so looking forward to seeing my daughter! I'm so glad that the veteran moms have so much info to share with us! It is really helpful. I have been trying to write almost everyday since I got my daughter's letter. Her boyfriend told me today that he keeps paper and pens in his truck so he can write down things that happen during the day so that he can tell her about them when he writes his letters. I thought that was a great idea! Well, I am very tired and I still haven't written a letter, so I better get busy!!
angelalovesD: Navy Lodge is about a mile or so from the RTC gate. It is located in the housing part of the base. You can't walk to PIR as there are no sidewalks/busy streets to get to the gate, but you can use Sarge's shuttle or drive. Navy Lodge was just renovated...someone who stayed there recently said they enjoyed it.
lovemydoodles: We stayed at Residence and really liked it. But have had rave reviews on Springhill Suites also. They are close to each other, and near Sarge's MeetandGreet. Courtyard Inn is right there too, and I understand Holiday Inn Express as well. All good hotels. Ask for the Navy Grad rate, but if you have AAA, compare that rate also.
