I am having mix feelings about him leaving..... I am very excited and proud of the choice he made, but I feel like I am losing my best friend.  I have been a single mom for the past 19 years, he has been there thru thick and thin, so a piece of me is going to be missing without him.  We have a party schedule for him on the 15th to wish him well at boot camp and so let him know we all support him.  I am trying to hold back any emotions, I want him to know I will be ok and I am ok and pround of him.  So far I am ok, he hasnt seem me cry but I am afraid I am not going to be able to hold back much longer.  Am I crazy to hold back my feelings?  I dont want him to know and him to change his mind......

Our son leaves June 6th, 2013. DO NOT hold it back, it's good for him to see how much you love him, care about him, and how much you will miss him,(with in reason). Just follow it up with how proud you are! Holding it in sometimes appears as if you don't care because you are trying to hard to hold it in.

OMG.....I left him at the hotel tonight cried all the way home which is 2 hours home....Ill see him at MEPS in the morning but he told me not to cry

My daughter leaves on June 19th. We are having her graduation / goodbye party on June 15th. I am so proud of her and this decision. I know it going be so hard to say goodbye that day.

Let me tell you we just left the hotel and we still have MEPS in the morning.  I cried all the way home which is 2 hours.  It is the hardest thing you will ever have to do.  Not coming coming home with your child is hard.

My son leaves on June 18 as well. He will turn 22 while in BC. It will be hard not talking to him on a regular basis, but especially on his birthday! We are having his going away party on the 15th too! Our sons will do great because that have great moms : )

Girl you are absoultly correct they will do awesome. But I just left my son at the hotel amd will be there in the morning at MEPS this is on the hardest things to do, not coming home with your son.  I cried all the way home. It is somethingi cant explain, a feeling I cant explain, he isnt here to climb into bed with me and say hey mom whatcha doing? An emptiness.....

My Daughter Is Leaving On June 17. I Can't Believe Is Here Already. I'm So Excited For Her, And So Sad For Me...

My daughter leaves the 17th.  Having party for her on the 15th.  She will turn 18 on the 24th.  I am happy for her sad for me too.  I am scared and anxious.  Glad I have overtime at work.  Glad I have garden to keep me busy.  I think we are developing new boundaries.  Recruiter said I could take her to hotel night before and get pass from TSA to sit with her at airport.  She said she didn't want to see me bawl so we decided that recruiter would take her to hotel.  Then we would part at MEPS.

What am I going to do without all her laundry and all her cereal and little things.  I don't think I will ever throw away anything that she will leave just "laying around".  Including partly drank bottles of water in the fridge.

The day is coming coming around so soon already , my son leaves to boot camp June 17th and I've been finding myself crying every once in a while. I'm so proud of my son and all at the same time i'm going to so so miss my boy. I know he will do great! 9 Fridays thy say so August 16th is the 9th friday is this the day he graduates from BC?

I hope You Are All Hanging In There. We Will Get Through This. Tomorrow We Will Be One Day Closer To Seeing Our Babies. Its No Longer Hanging Over Our Heads, Now We Have Something To Look Forward To. Stay Strong Moms, We Obviously Raised Strong Kids!

Hi Jeannie!  My son is leaving on June 17th as well!  He was supposed to leave last June, but broke his elbow eight days before he was to leave.  He had a medical discharge, began the process all over again, and is finally ready to leave AGAIN.  I am sad as well.  Have you seen any others leaving at the same time or is it just us?

This is Jerri (Rainydaze) My daughter leaves June 17.  I am starting to get sad too.  Putting up a good front I think.
