I am having mix feelings about him leaving..... I am very excited and proud of the choice he made, but I feel like I am losing my best friend.  I have been a single mom for the past 19 years, he has been there thru thick and thin, so a piece of me is going to be missing without him.  We have a party schedule for him on the 15th to wish him well at boot camp and so let him know we all support him.  I am trying to hold back any emotions, I want him to know I will be ok and I am ok and pround of him.  So far I am ok, he hasnt seem me cry but I am afraid I am not going to be able to hold back much longer.  Am I crazy to hold back my feelings?  I dont want him to know and him to change his mind......

My son just landed in GL. His flight from SLC was cancelled. He called me from the USO, so the next call will be the I'm Here call. He sounds so tired and he knows they won't hit the rack until tomorrow night. I feel for him, but they have a reason for doing things the way they do. Needless to say I have been glued to my phone! Lol. We are Navy Moms!!!

Where are you all at right now?  I am feeling lost in Navy for Moms, with no real group to join yet!!  Where is the group  "Moms who lost their babies a couple days ago, but don't have a box, form letter or PIR date yet!!!!"  haha

Just got the scripted call.  All I can say is wow.  I could hear the RDC in the background telling her what to say.  About two lines.  My daughter was very quiet, no emotion.  I said OK, I love you.  She said I love you too bye.  I am actually ok.  It has begun.  She is safe, she knew what to expect and she is strong.  The call before this one was the killer.  That was the last time I spoke to my girl as I have known her, and I hung up and lost it.  This scripted call was already someone else.  I look forward to seeing what my beautiful daughter becomes.  I love her so much.  Stay strong moms.

I got my call at 1:43p\am last night he said hey, I am here, I told him I was proud of him and I loved him.  He then told me I would received his box of stuff in 2-3 days, I told him ok. Be strong and be good. He said ok and I gotta go, and that was all. Thank goodness I have an awesome boss, I totld her the last few days have been emotionally draining and I needed today day off she said that was fine. I have to say this is the hardest thing I have ever done.

My son Jeff is leaving today. We got to have dinner with him last night and then brought him back to the hotel. Not sure what time he leaves, just that he had to go to MEPS this morning and the flight would be sometime today out of SeaTac Airport. I feeling lost now. I was all good with this, but now I'm feeling like it was a mistake to gently push him in the direction of the military. Although, that's just my heart and my selfishness. I know in my head it's a very good thing and truly I'm not worried about him. He'll do great. I just need to get past this sadness and look forward to calls and seeing him in August.

Twhitlatch71: I know what you mean. My son was so nervous on Sunday. I felt so bad. Right now he is on the plane for GL. He should be there by 9. Six my time I believe. Then I should get the I'm here call sometime tonight. Our last contact for awhile : (

My "kid in a box" came today, and I was OUT!  I have to wait until 6:30 to pick it up.  I am excited it is here, sad I missed the delivery.

Does anyone know when we get addresses?  Will it be in this box?

I just called home to see if the box was there. Nope. I left a very large note for the FedEx driver to leave it on the porch. Hopefully a letter early next week! (Fingers crossed).

Kelly...they came back to deliver it!  It was a stinky box.  LOL  No note, everything just thrown in there, dead cell phone, and an instruction card.  No Navy letter....

got my box too....no note, but I was happy to see that she was able to maintain her composure enough to keep some things and not send it all back in a panic like Ive seen some reports!!  I cannot wait to get the address and the form letter :)  :)  :)

I am so happy you got the box. Stinky clothes and all. Lol
No box today. Boo!
