My duaghrter is leaving June 18..... Im kind of devistated, she wasn't suppose to leave until September.  But she is soooooo excited!  She's ready to do something with and in her life.  I never let her know I'm down.

Kshanama: It has recently hit me my son is leaving soon. After high school he moved out of state for a few years, so I am use to him physically being gone. The hard part will be the lack of communication while in boot camp. We talk everyday. What A school is your daughter going to?
My son is leaving on June 18th. How is everyone feeling as it is getting closer?
Where are you from?
We are from Iowa.
We are from No. Nevada. Time is flying by the closer we get!
Congrats and good luck to your son. We also live in Reno, my son signed into DEP last week. His ship date isn't til 7/1/2014 as he has to finish his Senior year of HS. Hang in there and stay strong!
Thank you. Impressive that your son made such a life changing decision! You must be very proud!
We are proud of him, as I'm sure you are of your son. He came to us with this choice. It's going to be a long wait, but for now I just want to be supportive for him. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. We Nevada Moms gotta stick together!

BTW...There's a Nevada Moms group on N4M in case you were interested in joining.
It is nice to chat with someone from Reno! I did not know there was a group for NV moms. Will look for it. Thanks!!

My son leaves June 18th. He's been waiting since last November for the next Nuke BC. He's super ready and we are too. But, as it gets closer and closer, the time is just flying by. We have things planned nearly every weekend for him to see family and friends before he leaves. But, we're really excited and proud of him. We're from Washington state.

We have a huge going away party for son planned for June 15. I wish time would slow down...

That was when my sons party was and it was so much more difficult than I had anticipated.

Hi, we are from Missouri. My son also left today, and he will go to nuke school. He has been waiting since October. He is very excited and ready for his new life. Hope they make it through nuke school, it sounds really hard and stressful.
