My Sailor son is stationed in San Diego, I am in Wisconsin. Last week (Thursday) he noticed a lump in his testicle and saw medical. Yesterday he had an ultrasound, a few hours later he had the testicle removed. He was kept overnight and was going to undergo a CT scan during the night. I haven't talked to him yet today, I'll let him rest another hour.
My question: is it normal to move this fast??? Should I be more concerned than I already am??

Navy medical can move very quickly when the doc thinks there is a need. I once went into surgery after an ultrasound, they barely gave me time to call my husband.
You're a mom, you're going to be super-concerned no matter what. Best healing thoughts to him!
I got convalescent leave after my surgery. 30 days just to heal up. He may be eligible for some of that non-chargeable leave once the medical stuff is taken care of.
Thanks Anti M. The doctor has already mentioned he will recommend 30 days convalescent leave. Too bad he can't come home during that time.. :(
Yeah, they let me travel the first time, but I didn't have follow-ups and was in Japan alone. They let me go to my parents' home for the holidays because the doc decided travel was less risk than depression! The second time, I just stayed with my husband.
He could ask... exceptions can be made. Sometimes.
I just spoke to him. CT scan looks good. He'll have follow-up in a week or two. Before any of this happened he had already planned a secret trip home beginning in mid July (bless his heart) he's already purchased a ticket! The doc said he should be able to go home still, he just may need to adjust his plans some. Takes a load off. Maybe I can focus on work today.. :)
