Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Need help from ohare to rtc at 1 am, it seems no shuttles are running at these hours. Graduation 8/2/13, what's the best way to get to base, we are staying at the hostess house on base?

I am not sure what the hostess house is on base, but renting a car is very inexpensive. There are rentals cars for approx $20 a day with unlimited mileage.
Make sure you join the PIR group for 08/02/2013. There is lots of information there for you and others with SRs in the same TG and division as your SR.

Thanx ellen0502, hostess house is small apt. For military families real cheap, we stayed when we would get orders in marine corp. from coast to coast. Very convenient and $ affordable. I read that parking was crazy expensive anywhere, hard to find parking etc. do u know anything @the metra? The blue line? How far is rtc from navy pier? When did u go thru rtc graduation? What did you do while there?

When traveling into Chicago the only way to go is the train. The station is right across the street from the gate to the RTC, and it runs several times a day. You can take the train to Ogilvie Station in the Chicago and get to the Navy Pier from there either by bus or taxi (recommended).
What you have time to do totally depends on if your sailor is staying in GL for school or flying out to another location.

All of the meet and greet for sarge and at Ramada Inn are listed. In addition, you (as a member) could input any event on this calendar.
