My son has been in boot camp since May. He got sick, and was transferred to div 2341. I am so anxious since he supposed to call this weekend or yesterday after his doctor's exam. But I have not yet gotten the phone call. I got  a letter today, He said he is doing fine and feels a lot better, but he's been in light duty for do long  he is trying to fight boredom.

He was passing everything and was sooo close to graduating this past July 3. I feel so bad the ones that get delayed may not even have a graduation ceremony. I was so excited to see him graduate but as long as he gets to finish and be a sailor to go on to a school.

The wait is killing mee!!!

Recruits in the RCU can lose phone calls if someone messes up. I hope you get a call soon. Join SHIP 04 DIV 2341.

Yes, boredom is a problem in the RCU, but he needs to stay busy and keep studying and preparing as much as he can for the things ahead; and, if he is physically able to, he should volunteer for things within the ship. I'm sorry he won't have PIR, but as you said, what matters is that he finishes and becomes a Sailor and goes on to "A" School.

I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones); there may be information (especially in the Pages under the pictures of the Members) and support for you there. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools.

Thanks, I got a letter yesterday but is dated before the Doctors appointment. He did say he is studying and keeps encouraging others that as he said have it worse than him. I am so proud of my son. He is going to be in cryptology a "spook" going to Florida for A school. I was looking into the groups for his job too, thank you for your advise.

Thanks for the info. I don't know his rating . I Think is CTT , not sure

I finally heard from my son. He was busy making up his tests. He passed everything just waiting for the battle station this thursday. I am packing and ready to see my Sailor!! Thanks for your comments and support. Good Luck to all the recruits getting ready to graduate. To the parents going through this experience be patient and we wish you and your family the best.  We are proud, for our children are brave and committed.
