Which airport is used by the Navy to transport our sailors from GL to their A school? Also, how soon will they know their departure day/time to A school? My son's PIR is 8/09/13... can't wait!
Tags:
Only your Sailor will know which of the three airports he will fly out of and when and he most likley will find out within the last week before PIR, sometimes only a day or so before PIR. PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend (clickable link) will give you info on how to plan.
What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools.
Thank you for the info. AE or AT in Pensacola and I have joined his A school group.

Grrr no word from my son in 4 weekends! I've gotten letters which is great but really looking forward to hearing his voice too. His PIR is scheduled for 8/9 and this is another important week for him. I'm guessing he doesn't have his A school flight times still until after this week passes. lemonelephant...can you tell me the likelihood of what to expect for his A school departure? He is IT and going to Pensacola. Ship 11 Div 291, we took the last flight home on Sunday the 11th just to make sure we could be there the weekend if he was available. Miss him terribly
