OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

You need more info for a response.  Ship # division #?

My Sons letter came today too.  He is in ship 13, div 374.

That's great! Join the group, PIR 09/27/2013 TG 46, to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Divisions 361 and 362 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions. It was strange that you gave the Ship and Division numbers the way you did if you got it from the form letter, but form letters have gone out for that TG.

You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

(Group names within this reply are clickable links.  To join a group, click on the group name and after the group page opens, click on “+ Join...” in the upper right.)

Thanks lemonelephant. She is in Ship 14 USS Arizona division 361. I am not sure of anything else.

You are very welcome. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit and Ship/Division--How it Works for how to address letters. You now know that PIR is 09/27/2013 if you didn't know that before. That date has been confirmed on http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp.

KJarizona361, I saw on your posts that your daughter is 14,361. Same as my daughter. And your daughter is staying at GL for A school, I see. Same as mine. I bet they are spending a lot of time together. My daughter is Stefani.
