Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 383 and 384
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

No letter yet here (and I'm checking daily), but mail generally takes about 4 days to get to CO from IL, having done it for 5 years now. I hope they are swimming, maybe a bit easier of a week for him. He earned his lifeguard credentialing while in high school.
Congrats on the receipt of your letter!
I did :)
Just wanted to say a quick hello and happy to have joined the group. My son is part of Ship 11, Division 383. He will be going to San Antonio, TX for A school as a Hospital Corpsman. He earned his CNA certificate as a senior in high school and wants to pursue a medical career. I guess seeing me as a nurse for almost 15 years didn't deter his career choice : ) He turned 18 on August 18th, while in boot camp. I received the 5 minute phone call Saturday. He sounded good, like himself, but maybe a little tired. No letter yet from him, but having moved from IL to CO 5 years ago, with all family and many friends still in IL, I know mail generally takes about 4 days to get here. Maybe I'll get a letter tomorrow?!?!
I was very excited to receive a letter yesterday! Sounds like ship 11, USS Kearsarge, division 384 has a group of great guys who are becoming good friends. His letter began with he has met some great guys. My son being 6' tall and so thin he barely made weight, I am shocked the last words he put in his letter were "the food is amazing!". I guess it took the Navy to get him to eat. I will see how much he enjoyed the food when I see him at graduation.
rebwro, your SR sounds just like mine...he is 6'1" and weighs about 140 soaking wet.
Anybody from Div 383 get a phone call home yet? My sailor said he was supposed to get one (i read it in the letter he sent) but I never got one..
I got a call on Saturday 8/24 and I know of others that have SR's in div 383 that also got a call.
Just got a call from my son ship 11/div 384. He said a lot of the guys in the ship are sick with cold like symptoms...sore throat and coughing. Not sure if it was because they just finished swimming. I just hope that they all start feeling better! Anyone else get a call?
