Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 387 and 388

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

NausetMom, I got my challenge coin in the mail today also. I thought that was very fast. I just ordered it. Will take that when we go to PIR and also a b.day pressie for him. He will have his birthday that last week he is there. So we will get to celebrate while we are with him at PIR.

That is going to be great that you will be able to see him so close to his birthday.

Yes, we think so too. Nice way to celebrate his b.day this year!!!! :)

Hello Ladies! ProudMomma here! Just wanted to share ..... my son from Ship 12 Div 387 got to make a 5 minute call last night! It was a reward...he called his fiance and said he is doing good.  His div hasn't been allowed to mail any letters yet, but they are supposed to be allowed to send mail out on Sunday!  They have been receiving their mail from home though! He told his fiance that he is supposed to be allowed an hour phone call this afternoon!!! I'm so excited I can't wait to hear his voice :) I can only assume that the div will be making calls, but I don't know for sure.  I'm hoping for us all!

Chi's Mom here and excited to finally hear from my daughter ship 12 div 388!  My Mom and I both got to talk to her and she sure needed to hear our voices.  They all need to hear their families voices as it has been no contact for a period of time.  She is good, stressed as everyone is but doing very well.  I think the first call is the hardest one especially since they get very little sleep, are constantly being screamed at and well, the call is sure a morale booster for sure.  They all need mail, as it is so important to get a letter after what has to be many rough days just to keep up their spirits and morale to keep pushing and meeting their goals.  I of course gave a fast and upbeat pep talk and waited until I was off the phone to cry a bit.  I hope you all get the call if you have not already...keep the phones ready!

I finally got the call I've been waiting for!  I got to talk to James for about 15 minutes, then he wanted to call his girlfriend. He sounded really good, and didn't seem to be homesick.  I hope the rest of you get calls today!

So happy for you, jackson5! I got my call too and he sounded great as well. No trace of homesickness or worry in his voice. He actually laughed a couple of times. Is James 387 or 388?

James is 388.

My SR called today! I missed his call but he did get to talk to his sister and grandparents. If your son is going on to A school as an OS (operations specialist) Private message me.. I would love to talk to you. He did say that they processed for 2 weeks so they just finished week 1.
My son got to call today. Was so good to talk with him for a while. My hubby and I had him on speaker, so both got to talk with him.
Hello Ladies! We got a call from our SR yesterday! He is actually liking bc, weird. He has made some friends & gave me some names, last names of guys he us friends with. He said the food is good, my boys really like to eat. He said he will be staying in GL's for A school, I originally thought he would be going to Groton the day after PIR, but since he will be staying we will get the weekend with both our boys! We have 18 yr old twins at bc right now that left almost a week apart, but the one that left first had to wait for his division to fill. God smiled on us, again, & the boys have the same PIR date & are both staying at GL's! So happy!
