Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 383 and 384
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Received a call last night from my son. He has only been sick a few times his entire life, so I was surprised when he told me he was getting over a cold with a sore throat. Swimming went well this week. He is still enjoying the food. He sounds tired but excited. He talks about how well the guys get along. As a mom it is great to know he is making friends who are going through the same things. These friendships can last a lifetime. It was a great evening hearing his voice!
My son's friend (we consider him family as he spent a lot of time here growing up) is ship 11 div 383. My son is in school in Pensacola, his PIR was 4-19 of this year. I don't follow as close as I used to but if I can help any of you let me know, I've been through this with my sailor and also want to keep up on our adopted SR that is part of this group.
Yikes...I have no idea what I'm doing on here...I just started a whole new discussion instead of introducing myself to you guys...LOL...good grief...Anywho, my son is in Div 383, Cardinal Company. He's 18 and graduated in May. He was part of the DEP. I talked to him for the first time yesterday. He seems to be adjusting well :0) Said they get in trouble about every day because they are all so young and inexperienced...it's that what basic is all about? We are from the Peoria, IL area, and he will (I think) being staying at Great Lakes for A-school...gunnery mate?? Nice to meet you all, prayers and courage for all of your SRs!!
Joli 13, I also live in IL and one of my son's is in the Cardinal company, he has a twin brother who is also in BC and will PIR on 9/27. Nice to meet you!!
Hi Cathy...where do you live in Illinois? Holy cow...how are you dealing with 2 boys leaving...that's crazy!
I live in Beardstown, Hey, both of my boys are both ship staff and it is a good thing, I don't really understand it myself, but Gregory told me since he made ship staff that they won't be as strict on them at A-school.
Both boys are going to Pensacola
Joli13 I am just about an hour south of you in Athens Il. My son is also 18 and was in the DEP. The navy has been his dream what seems to be "forever" He earned his Eagle Scout which advanced him in rank. He will be staying in Great Lakes for his A-school. Where will your son go to A school?
Bren will also be staying at GL for A-school. He was in the DEP too...The Navy was kind of a surprise to his dad and I, but I think it was a good decision. Tough for me as it is my oldest and first to leave home...he's a good boy though and I hope that he takes advantage of all there is to experience :0)
My son is also staying GL for A-school. I really hope to get to meet you, NavyMom2013, Cathy and some other mom's from here while we're at PIR. My son was in JROTC for four years in high school which also advances his rank. The Navy has been his plan since he was 10. He is my oldest and only boy so the being away from him is hard, but I know he's living his dream!
