My son left 9/11 for boot camp and I was at a complete loss until I joined this site and received direction from a beautiful navy mom! Thanks lemonelephant you're the best!! I never received a call that night but no news is good news and I'm holding onto that! I'm looking to connect with other moms! I'm looking forward to receiving his box but most of all the form letter! I've been writing him everyday and will send them when I have his address. I miss him dearly but I'm one proud momma! This is going to be a long 9 weeks but I know it will make us all stronger! Love and hugs!

My son left on 9/10/2013. I would love to connect with other moms who have children who left around the same time. This has been very hard for me. I have cried a lot and just want to know how my son is doing. I am just so ready to hear his voice. I received his box of personal items on Friday. I am so looking forward to receiving his address, so we can send letters from home.
My son left 9/11. Hope you are all doing ok with this new situation in your lives. I am here for any who need to talk.

My son also left on 9-11....Can you keep me posted on when you get your box? I am so excited that he's made it 4 whole days!! But who's counting right? lol......*sigh* this mom :)

My son left of 9/11 as well.  FedEx tried to deliver the box yesterday, but we missed it.  Left a signature and got it today.  His younger brother was so excited that he couldn't wait for me to get home to open it.

My son left 9/12 does anyone have their sailors address yet? The recruiter told me that he should have it by wednesday but as a Mother of another sailor I know that he already should have it.

I don't think it's out yet. My son was sworn in on 9/11 but flew out of San Diego on 9/12.
My son also left on 9/12. Just got his address from my recruiter today, the same day I received the box. Call your recruiter and ask him he should have it by now.

My son also went in on 9-11! Miss him but so PROUD of him!!

Yes..my son let for boot camp on the 12th...I am happy that he made a decision to pursue a career with the navy..but I miss my son very much..I have tears of joy and sadness at the time..I am worried as well
My Son left 9/12 out of San Diego. Great opportunities await! Very happy and proud.
Knowing not everyone received a call that night helped tremendously. This has been a long 5 days for me. I'm sure it feels even longer for him. I brave today and everyday knowing he is braving it even more! This is going to be quite a journey and I'm so very proud of him and all of our children and all that have went before them! Love and hugs to you all!

Our call came at 11:45pm on the east coast.  I'm just glad that I kept the phone on.  We would have missed it.  No idea that they would have called that late.
