Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We are also trying to figure out move information, with him being overseas he doesn't have enough to really benefit from a pack out but I need to. How early do you have to schedule the pack out date? Any info about Hawaii I would gladly appreciate thanks :)

See if the ombudsman for his ship can help you sort out getting an ID card. They have contacts higher up the chain of command and can often get things moving along. You can find most ombudsmen with a google search.
Okay, you married after he got his orders to Hawaii? Are they accompanied or unaccompanied orders? Because you can't schedule a packout at all on unaccompanied orders.

Before his official written orders, he was given the unofficial orders and made sure we met the deadline for accompanied orders. Ill mention ombudsmen to him to see if he already tried that option. It's all a lot to figure out and it seems they are giving him the run around. For instance he tried to find out more about the packout from my place but (I'm pretty sure this is the situation but could be off) he was told I am not yet on deers so they could look into scheduling it but I can't get a deers without power of attorney. Were trying to take everything one step at a time but the closer we get the more anxious we get.

Good about the orders. that helps.
That's just nuts... he should be able to enroll you in DEERS! Does he have all your info, copies of your SSN and so on? Even if they're on a sub, there's always someone who handles personnel matters.... unless they're River City, in which case, there's nothing to be done. (restricted communications)
And since you are a spouse, YOU can contact the ombudsman directly. She (usually is a she) is a trained volunteer spouse who is at the homeport. Her job is to assist other family members with problems. You got a problem, I bet she can drop a word in the right ear and help get things rolling. If nothing else, she can find out why the ship/boat is so unable to resolve this issue for you two, and let you know information which should not be shared online.
