Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 415 and 416
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Doing the happy dance. After stalking the mailman waiting for him to finish up. I found a letter from my son. Its our first official how he is doing letter we have gotten. He sounds really good never mentioned he was sad about anything besides the first 48 hours. Seems to really like it. Well gots to read the letter again. :)
So HAPPY for you :) Still waiting to see if my son writes... he'll probably write the girlfriend first.. :( Sent mine out yesterday.
Ladies letters from ship 03 div 416 are coming. Got my first one today. Oh what a feeling.
My son did the same thing! I didn't know he had such neat handwriting! He sounds good in his letter and says it's really cool! I hope he is not sugar coating! It sounds as if other SR's are enjoying their time as well. I wish I knew what "A" school he was going to:( He went in undecided but is hoping for search and rescue? Guess we wait and see.
Finally got a letter from my SR yesterday!! He wrote it over a span of 6 days--each sheet was a different day--but he said he's doing great--is eating and sleeping better than when he was home (he was a paramedic on 24 hour shifts). And, despite a lot of "yelling" he says it's "fun" actually. He missed a phone call home last Sat because he was "SIQ"--had a blister on his ankle become infected so he couldn't leave with everyone else to make a call home. I am hoping someone is home this Sat if he gets another chance to call. He also said he may be selected as the "RPOC" of his division, which he was all excited about. I have made reservations at the Navy Lodge--in my SR's name--I seem to recall seeing something about this on this site--hopefully I did ok with that. Hopefully someone can explain to me how that will work upon check in-it says the "sponsor" must be PRESENT at check in with his ID--that probably will not be possible--so any feedback about this would be appreciated-also is there a shuttle to the PIR from there?
SouixB56, Did you make the reservation on-line, and did you get the graduation rate? Your SR does not need to be with you when you check in, but they may ask you to have your Sailor stop by the front desk at some point.
If you did make the reservation on line I would suggest calling them directly to double check everything. I believe the graduation rate is still sixty something dollars for a regular room. They are very helpful there at the hotel and will make any changes you may need done.

No letter today.. thats fine...But found out he called the girlfriend on Sat instead of his father or me ....with that I am a little annoyed, but ok with that. She said he's been writing everyday and can do that right before sleeping. He really should be sleeping. Misses everyone and having that "what did I get myself into" moment LOL. Told her its a 40 min walk to the phone area to call out. But he sounds good...just waiting for my call now.
Just found out that my SR is in Ship 03, Div. 416. I would love to "talk" with any other Moms of SRs in the same division. My son is a little older than most but was really excited to start this journey. I was sooo excited for him. I really miss him but I know that he is where he needs and wants to be. Really looking forward to his PIR.
My son is also in Ship 03 Div 416. Like your son, mine is older than others. He graduated college with a degree in Logistics and worked a couple of years but not in his field of study. He has always wanted to join the Navy so he's living his dream. Where is your son going to A school? Mine is going to Meridian Mississippi. Tell your son to look for a 6' 3" tall Texan!
