Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 427 and 428

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I received all of my son's letters today that he has been writing over the last 2 1/2 weeks. Ship 9/Div 428. I did get a call from him last Saturday and he said they would be going out on Sunday, so it took 4 days for me to get them for those that might still be waiting for a letter(s). Made me smile and cry at the same time. :) He said the hardest thing in the first week was how much he missed us in just a week's time....and he was surprised, he didn't think he would. Lol. So excited to see him. Finished up travel plans last night! :)

My son is in the same division/ship...Where you all from? I made travel plans too and hoping he doesnt have to stay longer than needed. He had a bad reaction to ALL the shots he was given which he said has put him on LLD since shot day! :(

I also got my son's first letter yesterday and was so excited! I know I've gotten his phone calls, but somehow the letter was just so important to me and it made me so amazingly happy!  The funniest part of his letter - he said "We got our uniforms, and I have to tell you mom, I look good!"  I'm still laughing at that! He really seems to be doing well and that makes me feel so proud! He's told me a few times that this division that he's in is a "talkative" one, so they get in "trouble" a lot, but that they are learning and getting better. Is there anyone else in this group from Arizona?

My son said the same thing! Driving him crazy because they keep getting into trouble.. We are from Washington state. What Ship and Div is your son in?

My son said he looks, HOT! I am sure he does in someone's eyes but in my mom's eyes, I will go for handsome!! LOL

I'm a transplant to Kansas...we moved here from Texas 2 years ago so that is where my son grew up and graduated high school. Also where he first started thinking Navy. :) I haven't had any more phone calls since last Saturday. My son had mentioned the trouble his division was getting into as well but didn't say why. He said it wasn't bad though. :)

I got one envolpe with 8 letters and the 2nd one with 2 letters plus a phone call this week.

Congratulations!! Mine too! Made me smile ALL week long!!!

I was hoping for a phone call Saturday.

W7 Ship09 Div428, my son is ship 9 div 428. My phone calls have always come on a Saturday afternoon, so I'll be keeping my phone with me all day long today! :)

Awesome! I got a phone call during my haircut appointment. I took the phone call, totally ignored her, took off the cape and paid without being finished..lol...then walked out without a word to her. Oh well, my son's call was way more important than my hair at that point. Now though I think I might need to go back to let her tidy up! LOL. I wish I could have my phone on my while working but I can't :( But just in case I miss his call I have left my voice message on my cell for him! :) Should bring a smile to his face!

Good Morning hope yall all have a blessed day

I didn't get a phone call this weekend - I was very sad :(   I hope things are going ok for this group.  On a kind of bright note - today is my son's 21st BIRTHDAY!  I can't imagine spending your 21st in boot camp!  We already called & sang him happy birthday and left goofy messages for him on his cell phone for him to get after graduation. Does anybody else have a son/daughter spending their birthday in bc?  It's hard not being able to talk to him today :(
