DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 007 and 008

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I wouldn't!!  Everything that J was told from his recruiter was that letters only and if you want to send photos you should type your letters and insert the photo into the letters.

In the past the reciepiant of the package would have to eat (if treats) in-front of their division while the rest has some form of punishment i.e. push-ups curl-ups.  I suggest you wait

Oh dear!  I will definitely not send anything!

Hello All,  My son is in Ship13 and DIV 008  Talked to him yesterday I live on Long Island and was in the city on a subway some how god was on my side and the call came through he sounded great like his usual self but said he was bored.  Not enough exercise  I was surprised since they have to do the run I pray he passes.  He was in Sea Cadets so did the mini boot camp and went  back 2 times as a staff so he knew what to expect. So glad I found you guys we can help each other fill in the missing blanks. Please everyone keep posting if you hear any news and I will do the same.  I was in the Navy and I know BC wasn't fun but I wasn't homesick times where different then no electronics to keep in constant touch maybe that's why its so much harder for us.  Cara

Hey Long Island....boy do I miss the east coast!  My son said the same thing about not enough physical challenge.  He was wishing he joined the Marines.  More physical challenge!  He said if he knew there was going to be so much classroom training, he would have finished college!

Your recruits are still in the beginning of BC. There is lots of studying, folding, dental exams, drilling, PT, and academic testing.  Here in a couple of weeks the PT and IT will really begin.

Look in the pages section which is on the main page of this group and under the member avatars. There is a link to what they are doing on a day by day basis.

Don't forget everyone today is the day they post the question on FB

Well I tried ladies, not sure how I did, man these people are fast!!  It took me 15 minutes to post my answer :(

Thanks for trying!  Your competing with many other LO who want to see their SR's.

I got home from the dermatologist too late!  I posted an answer anyway!  I found it quickly...maybe next week!  We'll get it before they leave BC!!!

I just got a letter from my SC, they made him Recruit Athletic Petty Officer!  So proud...love that boy.  Miss him terribly.  Can't wait to give him a giant hug next month...

Yahoo, that is wonderful!!  Congrats to him and proud mama!!

Thanks Angie....I am so proud...He's a good boy,,,I guess he's a man now!
