Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 007 and 008
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Congrats!! I was the athletic petty officer when I went to Navy BC loved it. The only part I never understood was there were a bunch of recruits who couldn't back float had to get up at 0400 and teach them but it was so rewarding you should be proud.
I couldn't be prouder... he's always been so into fitness. He was going to school for personal trainer/life coach and decided to join the Navy. I love that he chose the Navy, my Dad was a veteran of the Navy. That is so awesome you were the RPAO! Maybe you can give me tips on how he can keep his job in BC! If he keeps his "collar" he called it, he will leave boot camp as an E3
All he has to do is keep up the motivation and be there for them. When I was in BC we had work week so I spent the whole week at the gym. The hardest part was lapping people on their PT test. I know now they wear electronic devices so I'm told. I didn't get a pay advance for doing it wish I did lol Next time you write him maybe he can help my son SR Fidnarick he told me he was a minute off pace for the run and when he left he was a minute ahead. I think all that processing time and not working out everyday affected him. Good Luck, your son will do fine sounds like a great kid.
Cara
He can do that! He's highly motivated for the division to succeed. I will pass along your sons name to him, I'm such a geek, I write him everyday! James came in second in the run. We live behind a forest preserve and he ran the 5 mile path everyday. I'm sure the first couple of weeks took its toll on all of the recruits...I appreciate your support and this website so much. We're all in the same boat,LOL pardon the pun! My SR is on my mind constantly, miss him, but couldn't be prouder of what he is doing.
Hey Cara
Just dropped my son a note about your son. He should get it tomorrow. He was telling me Sunday there was a guy in his division with a thick NY accent! I wonder if it is your son! If he's a Yankee and Giant fan, they are probably commiserating together!!
I write my son everyday too lol Just sent one out now. Monday I sent the sport scores hope he doesn't get in trouble for that. He does have a thick accent but we are Jet and Met fans which makes it way worse!!. I see your in the Chicago Area my Brother in law lives in Barrington IL so we will have lots of family support while we are there.
I live very close to Great Lakes. I don't want to say the town. It says not to give too personal info. Is there a way I can private message on this? My husband is a Jet fan, so James routes for both teams, but he really is a Giant fan! Great game Monday night! Congrats on that win! I sent him the Farewell to the Sandman article fromSports Illustrated. He has it hidden in his bunk! I was in Barrington on Friday! That's great you have family out here, makes the trip easier. My brother is driving up from St. Louis and my sister is flying in from NJ. I can't wait. James is excited they will be here!
Congrats!! I only got one but he isn't a big writer so probably will be the only one I get. Hope all is well with him.
Anyone heard from Div 008 SR's this week, been reading some scary stuff about push backs this week. I just got done booking our travel arrangements, would hate to wait another 4 weeks!! As I am sure J would too!!
