Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi everyone. Welcome Dawn. This is a great site for support and information. I thought it would be fun to have our own "place" to share stories from our soldiers, since our husbands and kids are all together. Paula's out of town but her son is also in our division. Some people got personal letters today. The one I read said that they were a "marching division" so all they were doing was Marching as of last week. He was bored.

Do you know why someone would be put into a 900 division? Still trying to figure things out. This is still all new to me.

I was told that they can go into a 900 division if they have choir or band experience, ROTC background, if they show strong military bearing, or if they need to fill spots they start taking those with the high asvab scores. The 800 division is usually special ops people as their pt requirements are different.

There's also a facebook page titled' "PIR 12-13-13 Navy Boot Camp" that may be good to join. I found my place to stay for PIR and was able to share a discount code with the others on the site. I think it just formed yesterday.

Lemonelephant shared a page with me about 800 and 900 division info on it. I think she's the expert on everything-she's awesome. Let me see if I can find the link.

my tablet is messed up so I can't post the link, but you can find the link on the boot camp moms page to the right of the discussions. I think the 906 division is where a lot of the special ops are. My son and Paula's sons will be in Nuke, but I don't how everyone really gets in there. Just going by what our recruiter told us.
