Hi Moms! (and dads .. .family members)

My son is graduating soon. Can anyone give me some advice or tips? We are staying in Mystic. Do you know what time we need to be on base? We have a family member coming from Long Island and just trying to figure out timing. Also, has anyone been there at Thanksgiving? We are looking for somewhere to eat but not too much money.

Thanks all!

The Sub Veterans put on a bug thanksgiving dinner. they families are very welcome to join. ...we will be there!!!

That sounds great!!! We would love to go. How can I get more info. Would love to meet up!

Groton Townhouse Restaurant will be open on Thanksgiving but closed for Christmas.  I liked them alot when I was there.

Kind of like a Perkins or I hop - not too expensive and they have a website with their menu items listed..

Congratulations to your son.  Lot's of hard work got him to where he is now.  Is he graduating BESS? or is he ready now to go out on a sub?

When I went for my sons BESS graduation, my son had to meet me at the pass gate.  I could not get on the base alone as I was not military.  He had to be with me the whole time. Don't forget to go to the Mohegan Sun Casino - not necessarily to gamble but they have live music, a dancefloor, restaurants (buffets) for $15.99 ea and lots of cool stores there.  They have a web site too.  They might be open for thanksgiving too.

Thank you for the congrats! He is BESS grad. We are so proud of him. Really found his niche in life.

I have been to Mohegan Sun a long time ago. That is a great idea for Wednesday night. Something to do with everyone ... my littlest is 6 and just walking around and people watching or hearing music is great for him. Plus my husband's former mother in law will be with us (long story .... let's just say she wants to adopt me and have my mom take her daughter..... put it this way her daughter is not welcome at graduation as long as her 2nd husband is with her my son won't allow it).

I read about Townhouse on line ... great to know you liked it.

My son just graduated 2 weeks ago.  I had to meet him at the gate about an hour before graduation to allow time to get to where he needed to be after getting me on base.

I agree with the recommendation of the Casino.  It is a great place to wonder around and people watch.

If you are up for a day trip, don't forget that Providence is not very far away and it has some very interesting things to see and places to eat.

Groton Townhouse. There is also regular restaurants like Pizza Hut. You may want to try Pauls Pasta...all homemade yummy....

My son graduated on Oct 25, but we cannot be able to be there for his graduation. Does anyone have pictures from the ceremony?
