Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 023 and 024

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Have a lovely day moms!  Navy Mom Strong!!

whoop whoop just got a letter!

She has passed all of her PFAs, got a perfect score on personal inspection and weapons turnover.  She asked for more questionnaires and blister band-aids.....oh and pics of herself "when she was a punk" (I'm not exactly sure what she means by that) "cuz everyone wants to see".... sounds like some serious bonding to me.  They have earned one flag so far - yay!   Her uniform is getting pretty roomy.  They are doing much better at marching.  She mentioned that her next call might be on Nov 12 (she said that day would be 5.3).  She again mentioned "a wake-up call" which I still have no idea what that is.  The next week (written Oct 28) she said was "hell week" because they have 3 inspections, 2nd PFA and test #2, so they're pretty much done with that by now.

Well that's the info I have at this point.  Have a wonderful day!

mrspeacock, That's great, I'm hoping to have a letter when I get home, fingers and toes crossed. WTG on your SR's accomplishments, you must be so proud, I know I am when I hear how well my daughter is doing :-)). I am missing the once a week phone call, I am so glad we have under 3 weeks left until PIR!! yay

Hi Vicki!  I'm so sorry to hear that.  Yes, I do have friends on here that have received only 1 letter from their sons throughout BC.  One of the SRs has been calling his guy friends instead of mom when he gets phone privileges, it just breaks her heart.  I sent Sami a bunch of "questionnaires".  She really liked the first one I sent and asked for more.  I just tweaked them to fit her situation.  I would be more than happy to post them if you'd like.  The last phone call I have received was on Oct 24.  She said that it would be her last call until the "I'm a Sailor" call.  I just talked to one of my friends that has received only 1 letter and 1 call, she said "I'm gonna wring his neck when I see him".  She is right now waiting for his "I'm a Sailor" call.  I'm anxious to hear when she gets the call.  I do know that the recruits that are ship's staff, have a bunch more stuff to do than a regular recruit.  My daughter misses out on sleep the most as far as I know.  Being on ship's staff takes a lot of their "free-time" away.  During her last call, she had to cut it short because she had to go to the NEX to buy stuff for the heads.  So maybe he has a lot of responsibilities and is very busy.  And as they say...no news is good news.  I hope their div does something awesome and earns a phone call!  Oh, my friend just got her sailor call!  YAY!  She has a sailor!!  How cool is that?  I can't wait till it's our turn!  Just 14 days and counting!  I really hope you get a letter soon!  I am looking forward to meeting you in person!

I was thinking he would be a Recruit PO because he is a little older and more mature, just like my daughter.  The RDCs are pretty good at selecting the recruits that they think can handle the extra pressure for the ship's staff jobs, so it's actually a compliment.... even if it does seem to punish us moms.  Do you know which job he has?  I think Yeoman PO takes the most time, not sure tho....

I am getting so excited for PIR and the Meet and Greet!  It will be a great time!

Denise

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows when Battle Stations is going to be for Division 024 PIR 11/27/13?  If your sailor has told you please personal message me and please post on this site if you get a call that everyone in this division passed. So anxious to hear the news. They have all worked so hard!  Thank you!!

Welcome toothpicker86!  I will post here when I get a call, and I will be sure to ask if she knows other div numbers and outcomes.

We're down to single digit days to see our new sailors!

okay ladies.....just a few more days!!  I just printed out our gate pass!  It's getting so close now!

I will post here when I get the very famous "I'm a sailor call", but I will also post on the main page of our group "PIR 11/272013...".  I'm sure I will be watching the FB group as well looking for calls from other divisions.  Where will you all be looking and posting?

Our SRs have worked so incredibly hard and now are in the home stretch!

I am looking forward to meeting all of you in person!
