I have a daughter that also graduates Dec 6. She called last Sunday and she had a hard time talking at first, she said just hearing my voice made her want to cry, but she was told if they saw any one with a tears they would hang the phone up on them.... so she had to keep it together, and I just started talking and trying to fill her in as much as possible until she could pull it together. I was amazed with her positive attitude and even though she said she hates BC but she knew she would and it wasn't as bad as she had thought it would be. She was very excited and proud to be holding the flag during graduation and said she would be doing 2 other graduations as well. I'm hoping to main stream those graduations (if I can figure out the dates) so I can see her before Thanksgiving and graduation. Any body know when these dates could be?

Its fun to read your stories and have a simple connection to our children!

Who would've thought going to the mailbox could be so exciting!! ?? Have a great week and I hope everyone who hasn't heard from their son/daughter, will hear from them this week via letter or phone call and a miracle would be both!

I received a letter today from my SR she said to look you up..She is friends with  you daughter.. How are you doing through all of this.  They seem to be doing well and are excited to be in their division. Are you going to graduation? I'm not able to go to thanksgiving..Are you going?  Take care and I hop your doing well :)

Good morning,

I am doing very well...much better than the first 4 or 5 days after my daughter left.  It makes a big difference when the letters and calls are positive! When Kass called on Thursday (and what a surprise that was) she said she has a good friend and her last name is Neilson and her mom was on the same sight. Would this happen to be your daughter?

We live in Wisconsin (near Madison) so for us, its only a 2.5 hour drive to see her on Thanksgiving and I was so excited when she asked to be adopted for the day so we could see her, as we had no idea that they had this program.

Yes we are going to graduation :-)  and heading to Great Lakes on Thursday, with the intentions of doing the meet and greet. How about yourself? Where are traveling from?

I'm not much of a computer person, and not on it everyday, and terrible when it comes to knowing how to do all these thing, so you'll have to bear with me as I figure some of this out and I'm trying to check updates more frequently.

It was so nice to have a connection with our kids! How are you holding up? Do you have others in the service and what is your daughter going into and where is her A school?

Have a fantastic weekend and I will do my best to check messages more often! Lets hope we get another call :-)

Oh and wanted to tell you, the girls at BC call my daughter, KP (for Kim Possible) or Weezy... do you know your daughters nick name?

Candice

Candice,

Yes that's my daughter! :) I am so glad to hear that she has a friend she can turn to.  I haven't heard what her nickname is..If she gets to call again I'll have to ask.  I am doing better now than a couple weeks ago..She is my oldest daughter and the only one to join the service.  She is going in as a medical corpsman and will be going to A school in texas.   Where is your daughter going?.

We are from Rhode Island so we are unable to make it for Thanksgiving.. Maybe you could give my daughter a BIG hug for me!!  It is very hard knowing I can't be there and thinking of her being without us.  At home we would do everything together..I call her my side kick and sometimes my partner in crime :)

We are driving to graduation and hope to arrive late afternoon Thursday.

I hope you have a great weekend too!  We ill definitely have to stay in contact.  Fingers crossed for another call soon!

Melissa

Anyone have any info on when sailors leave post graduation? My SR going to "A" school in Texas. I'm trying to make plans.

My SR is also going to A school in Texas. They have an fb page I asked on their page and they said that our SR have to go back to base at 8:00pm at night and then at some point from midnight on.. they are brought to the airport where they wait to take their flight out.  They said it's usually Saturday day.  Only once did they hear of someone leaving Sunday.  They also said we could bring laptops and phone to airport for them. Has anyone else heard the same?

what is the facebook page?

Good Morning!!  It is US Navy Corpsman A School and After.  I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I just saw this now.  I hope you have a good day!
